The most pleasant months are April, May, and October, with mild temperatures and lower humidity. July and August are the hottest, often reaching 38°C, with no rain. March is the rainiest month. Spring, especially April and May, also brings the famous Semana Santa and Feria de Abril festivals, making it a lively time to visit.
Stay in Casco Antiguo if you want to be by the cathedral, Alcázar, and lively tapas bars; it suits most first-timers. Triana, across the river, feels more local and is great for evening strolls by the Guadalquivir. Nervión is quieter and convenient if you prefer a more residential base. The Corner House is on lively Alameda de Hércules, while Casa de Triana and Cavalta sit in Triana.
Start with the Royal Alcázar of Seville for its Moorish palaces and gardens, then the Catedral de Sevilla and La Giralda tower. Plaza de España is a grand showcase of Spanish tiles and architecture. For skyline views over the old town, head to Setas de Sevilla. Torre del Oro sits on the riverbank with maritime history. End at Parque de María Luisa for its shaded paths and fountains.
Day trips from Seville include Cordoba, where the Mosque-Cathedral is the main draw. Ronda and nearby white villages offer dramatic cliffside views and traditional Andalusian towns. Granada is a full day for the Alhambra and the Albaycín quarter. Gibraltar is also doable, with its famous rock and caves.
Plan 3 days to see the core sights: the Royal Alcázar, Catedral and La Giralda, Plaza de España, and Parque de María Luisa. Add a fourth day if you want a day trip to Cordoba or Granada. Two days could rush the must-sees, so three is a comfortable pace.
