We had a wonderful experience in Hotel Athena. From the very beginning Emiliano went out to greet us and helped us with our luggage, he was very friendly and kind and made us feel welcome. The rooms are very spacious, clean well conserved. Bathroom is well equipped with hairdryer, shampoo, body wash, lotion, shower caps and even slippers. We got settled in and went up to the roof terrace, the view at sunset was amazing! We order something to drink and service from Lucas was great. Next morning we went down to get some breakfast and we really enjoyed it, they have a very wide selection of pastries, eggs, cheese, meats and salad. The coffee was also very good. Everything is within a 10 minute walk and they have plenty of parking. If you’re staying in Siena this is the best place you could choose. Wish our stay was longer.

This hotel is in the walls of Sienna and has parking which is why we selected this one. The hotel is like a 70s throwback, lots of dark wood and antique mirror. Rooms are basic and rustic, sheets were crisp but bed was a little hard with pancake pillows to match but ok for 4 days. Breakfast was ok. We had a meal one night again the terrace is basic but the view was amazing. Staff Robert was phenomenal he worked day and night and was always warm and ready to get anything for you. This hotel is in a rock so the floors a little confusing at first with reception on the 5th floor to meet the road above. Reception again amazing, I was ill one night and they had a cab come to get me by sharing my location. Thank you Alishia for your patience and attentiveness. One little thing is a little earring was cleaned away the first day, it wasn't a real diamond so I didn't chase it up but I was a little upset to lose one of a set. Great for walking distance into the town.

Really amazing location if you want to avoid the hassle of driving and parking. The hotel has its own free parking for small cars, which made everything incredibly easy—and it was a great value for money. Every staff member we encountered—from the front desk and parking staff to the restaurant and bellman—was kind, welcoming, and always smiling. Everyone seemed very well trained and genuinely happy to help. The location is also excellent: you can easily walk to the city center in less than 10 minutes. We couldn’t be happier with our stay and would highly recommend this place!

From the moment of arrival through the moment we left, the experience was that of serenity and quiet opulence. Our beautiful room had a walk out balcony and generous sized terrace with a set of spiral stairs, taking us out into the gardens and swimming pool area. The concierge arranged for our tour of the archaeological park at sunset, and we returned for dinner at the hotel’s restaurant overlooking the ancient temples with their dramatic nighttime illumination. Service was excellent all around, and we had no trouble being English only speakers. It was a truly memorable experience.

Great view of the wall at sunset. The panoramic view of the Tuscany landscape can be seen from the rooftop cafe of the hotel. The bus stations are in frontof the hotel. The breakfast was really great. A taxi from the hotel to the train station was about 18 euros.

A charming old-style hotel within walking distance of Siena’s city center. The on-site parking is a definite plus. The breakfast was excellent, and the rooftop terrace was wonderful, with a cocktail bar and the option to enjoy a meal. It offers stunning views of Siena’s city walls and the lush green valley. The staff were friendly, and the housekeeping was excellent. The only downside was the shower in our room. The glass shower screen on the bathtub was loose, so water leaked onto the bathroom floor unless the glass was angled inward over the tub, which made the showering space rather cramped.

Location was great for a short walk to the downtown area. Room was a little small but had all that we needed. The terrace had stunning views and was a great place to enjoy a drink and relax. The breakfast spread was a good value. Bathroom shower treacherous - would advise anyone to use extra caution getting in and out of it.

We just finished our stay at Hotel Athena and I only have good things to say. The restaurant was amazing. The hotel staff was so friendly, welcoming and helpful. Special shout out to concierge Matteo at the front desk, he always made sure to check in on us and helped us with getting around Siena and outlying areas. Would definitely recommend Hotel Athena if you’re staying in Siena.
