Dear Susanna, Thank you very much for your wonderful 5-star review! We are delighted to hear that you enjoyed your spacious room, the comfort of our beds, and especially the spectacular views from our breakfast restaurant on the 18th floor. It is also great to know that you appreciated our vegan breakfast options. Thank you as well for your honest feedback regarding the room furnishings. We truly value your comments as they help us continue to improve. A very special thank you for recognizing Illa. We will gladly share your kind words with her—she will be delighted to know that her friendly and attentive service made such a positive impact on your breakfast experience. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back to SO/ Vienna again soon. Best regards, Your SO/ Vienna Team

The hotel's own Das LOFT rooftop restaurant and bar sits on the 18th floor and serves Central European cuisine with panoramic views. For a change of setting, Praterstrasse right outside offers a range of spots: Café Ansari for Georgian-oriental food, Mochi for Japanese, and the Praterwirt inn for classic Viennese dishes. The cocktail bar Pigalle is also close by. Your hotel's bar and snack bar are handy too. Most of these places are within a few minutes' walk along the same street.
The hotel sits on Praterstraße, a tree-lined avenue in the lively 2nd district, lined with cafés, restaurants and boutiques. You're a 9-minute walk from St. Stephen's Cathedral, 16 minutes from the Hundertwasser House and the Giant Ferris Wheel, and 19 minutes from the Prater. The street itself offers Pigalle for cocktails, Café Ansari, Mochi, Der Goldene Papagei, Balthasar, Praterwirt, Fischerie and Cucina Itameshi for food and coffee. The historic center with the Hofburg and State Opera is about a 17-minute walk away. It's a walkable, atmospheric area where you can start exploring immediately. The nearby Taborstraße metro stop also makes it easy to venture further.
From Vienna International Airport, take the CAT or S7 train to Wien Mitte, then transfer to the U4 metro to Schwedenplatz station, which is a 3-minute walk from the hotel. From Wien Hauptbahnhof main train station, take the U1 metro directly to Schwedenplatz, also a 3-minute walk away. Taborstraße Metro Stop is another nearby option. A taxi or pre-booked transfer will also get you straight to the door, and the hotel can arrange one for you.
For an evening out, start at the hotel's Das LOFT bar on the 18th floor, with panoramic views over the city. The hotel also has a lobby bar and a snack bar for a casual drink. Right on Praterstrasse, you can find the cocktail bar Pigalle and the hybrid bar called Praterstrasse, which has drinks, DJ sounds and creative pizzas. If you want fresh air, the Prater park is a 19-minute walk away, with its giant ferris wheel and green paths. The nearby Taborstraße metro stop makes it easy to head to other parts of the city for more evening spots.
SO/ Vienna is an excellent base for exploring Vienna, with many top sights within a short walk. St. Stephen's Cathedral is 9 minutes away on foot, the Hundertwasser House and Viennese Giant Ferris Wheel are each 16 minutes, and the Hofburg, Vienna State Opera, and Prater are all reachable in 17 to 19 minutes. The Kunsthistorisches Museum and St. Charles's Church are a 21- and 22-minute walk respectively. The Taborstraße Metro Stop is nearby, making it easy to reach further districts like the Naschmarkt. After sightseeing, you can unwind at the hotel's own bar, cafe, or restaurant. It is a central, walkable spot that puts the city's highlights within easy reach.
