For dining, start at the hotel's own Jacob's Grill, which serves gourmet meals with New Zealand wine. The Poolhouse Bar also offers a selection of wines and a relaxed setting. Nearby, Francesca's Italian Kitchen is about a mile north for Italian fare. Bistro Gentil is another option in the area. For more choices, the compact Wanaka town centre is within easy reach, where you'll find additional restaurants and cafés. You can also check the hotel's other onsite dining spots, The Lodge Room and The Hub, for more casual meals.
Oakridge Resort sits on the outskirts of Wanaka, surrounded by mountains and about 3 km from Lake Wanaka. The area is a great starting point for outdoor activities, with the Wānaka Willow Tree 2.3 km away and Mount Iron Track and Puzzling World each 2.9 km from the hotel. You are also close to the Cardrona Valley, which leads to ski fields. The hotel itself has outdoor hot pools and a bar, so you can relax right on site. For more dining and town life, Wanaka's compact centre is a short drive or walk away.
From Queenstown Airport, the closest international gateway, Wanaka is about a one-hour drive away. Rental cars, shuttles, and bus services are available for the transfer to Wanaka. Once in Wanaka, the resort is on the outskirts, about 20 minutes from Wanaka Airport. A taxi or ride-hailing service from the town center will get you to 20 Studholme Road. If you prefer, a pre-booked transfer can take you directly to the resort.
In the evening, you can relax at the hotel's own Poolhouse Bar, which offers a selection of New Zealand and international wines in a poolside setting. For a night out, Rubys Cinema & Bar in Wanaka shows the latest films and serves drinks. The town centre is a short drive away, where you'll find more dining and bar options. You could also enjoy a quiet evening walk to the Wānaka Willow Tree, about 2.3 km from the hotel, to see the lake at dusk. The hotel's outdoor hot pools are a great way to unwind after a day of exploring.
Oakridge Resort is a solid base for exploring Wanaka. The Wānaka Willow Tree is 2.3 km away, and Mount Iron Track and Puzzling World are each 2.9 km, so those are easy to reach. Wānaka Lavender Farm is 4.3 km, and Roys Peak Lookout is 7.3 km, which are a short drive or bike ride. For farther sights like the National Transport & Toy Museum at 8.3 km or Wildwire Wanaka at 17.5 km, you will want a car or a tour. The resort is also a good starting point for outdoor activities, with ski shuttles available in season. From here, you can comfortably plan day trips to the lake and town center.
