We recently stayed at Heart Hotel in Airlie Beach, and unfortunately, our overall experience was quite unpleasant. While the hotel has an excellent location and beautiful views, the condition of some of the amenities really let the experience down. When we first arrived, our experience at reception was not particularly welcoming. The first receptionist we interacted with did not come across as friendly or approachable and, unfortunately, seemed somewhat judgemental, which made us feel uncomfortable from the beginning. However, I do want to mention that the second receptionist we dealt with was much nicer, polite and helpful, so the experience with the staff was mixed rather than entirely negative. The biggest issue for us was the cleanliness and quality of the in-room amenities. The TV was very basic and did not have any smart connectivity or internet access. In this day and age, especially for a hotel stay, it would be nice to have the option to connect to streaming services or at least use basic smart-TV features. However, the most disappointing part was the coffee and kettle situation. The coffee machine provided in the room looked extremely old and was visibly unclean. There appeared to be mould inside/around the machine, which made us completely uncomfortable using it. We decided to simply have the instant coffee instead, thinking that would be a safer and easier option. Unfortunately, even the kettle was extremely dirty. It had visible buildup and did not look like something we felt comfortable using. As a result, we couldn’t even make ourselves a simple cup of hot water or coffee in the room. This is particularly disappointing because having a clean kettle and basic tea/coffee facilities is such a standard expectation in a hotel room. For us, cleanliness should be one of the most basic priorities of any accommodation, especially when it comes to items that come into direct contact with food or water. Seeing mould and significant dirt on these appliances made us question how thoroughly the room and its amenities were being cleaned between guests. On the positive side, the location is fantastic. The hotel is very conveniently located and within easy walking distance of the shops, beach and Airlie Beach Lagoon. The view from the hotel was also one of the best parts of our stay and definitely helped make the location appealing. Unfortunately, though, a great location and nice view cannot completely compensate for poorly maintained and unhygienic amenities. We expected a much better standard considering the price and the reputation of the hotel. Overall, we left feeling quite disappointed. With better cleaning, regular maintenance/replacement of the in-room appliances, improved amenities and a more welcoming approach at reception, this property could provide a much better experience. The location and view were excellent, but the cleanliness and condition of the amenities significantly affected our stay.

We had a wonderful 3-night stay at Heart Hotel & Gallery Whitsunday and were very happy from start to finish. The reception staff were friendly, welcoming and extremely helpful. The hotel is in a fantastic location, within walking distance of restaurants, shops, and everything we needed during our stay. Our room was lovely and clean, and the hotel was nice and quiet, making it the perfect place for a relaxing getaway. We thoroughly enjoyed our three days and would happily stay here again. Highly recommended!

NO CONSISTENT HOT WATER, DISRESPECTFUL STAFF At 8:30 pm we tried to take a bath in the tub. After running hot water for 10 minutes, the water became completely cold. After 30 minutes, the water alternated between lukewarm and cold. The bathtub was just a decoration, as there was never enough hot water to fill it. We tried to get help from the hotel, however after 8:00 pm, no staff was on duty. We tried calling multiple times but no one answered and every call was redirected to an AI system asking us to leave a message. This was completely no use as they replied our emails the next day morning. We had also arranged a late checkout(11 am). Despite this, at around 10:30 a.m., a housekeeping staff member, WITHOUT KNOCKING, unlocked our room. There was no door latch to prevent entry, and I was in the middle of changing clothes. The staff member who entered did not apologize and was quite unfriendly. Another housekeeping staff member later apologized, but the situation should never have happened. The room was much noisier than expected. Birds outside the window were always noisy so very badly affected our sleep. Soundproofing was not nearly as good as many previous reviews had suggested. The room was not cleaned to the standard of a five-star hotel. It couldn’t be a five-star hotel. Many dust and water stains. The only good thing is the hotel’s location.

The room was in an excellent position. Great views, and within walking of great eating places. Lovely outlook as well. Only one comment, I would like to leave. It would be useful if water was supplied., at this level of motel, it's something I think you should consider.

Clean, comfortable and great location. Absolutely would stay here again. The towels must have been new because they left fluff everywhere. The only negative was that the bathroom left very little to the imagination. Pocket door and slot blinds means you can hear everything....

Pretty nice and cozy stay at Airlie Beach! The location is perfect as it is in the heart of the city. The receptionists, one of them is very friendly and nice, the other one though seems stern at first but both of them are attentive and willing to help us. Rooms are on the smaller side (because we chose that option), carpet seems slightly musty but the room is mostly clean and quite well maintained. It can get a bit noisy if you have rowdy neighbours next door. Overall, I would recommend staying here for a convenient & relaxing stay!
