Excellent location for exploring Annecy The biggest advantage is the location, right in the heart of Annecy’s old town, making it perfect for walking around and exploring without needing the car. Our room wasn’t particularly large, but it was comfortable and perfectly adequate for a short stay, and importantly it had air conditioning. Being right in the lively centre does mean there can be some noise at night, so light sleepers should be aware of that. The hotel is dog-friendly, which was a big plus for us. Dogs aren’t allowed in the breakfast area, but this wasn’t a major problem as there are plenty of lovely dog-friendly cafés and breakfast places just outside the hotel. The main practical difficulty is arriving by car. Parking nearby is difficult, and carrying luggage from the car to the hotel can be inconvenient because of its central old-town location. This is more a trade-off for the excellent location than a fault with the hotel. A special mention to the young lady who checked us in on our first day. She was extremely welcoming, kind and helpful and gave us a very positive start to our stay. Overall, a very good choice if you want to be right in the centre of Annecy and explore everything on foot, especially if travelling with a dog.

We had a triple room which was beautifully clean and large enough for us, our teenager and dog. The hotel is in a perfect location right in the centre of the old town. We visited during a heat wave so our room was quite hot but the lady on reception was very helpful and gave us a fan which really helped. The cathedral underground car park was a very short distance and very reasonably priced with Hôtel discount. I would definitely recommend and visit again.

The location of this hotel is difficult to beat. You step outside directly into the heart of Annecy’s beautiful old town, so almost everything we wanted to see was within easy walking distance. Our room was fairly small but comfortable enough for our stay, with good air conditioning. One consequence of such a central location is that the surrounding area remains lively into the evening, so there can be some noise at night. We were travelling with our dog and really appreciated that the hotel is dog-friendly. Dogs aren’t permitted in the breakfast area, although there are plenty of good dog-friendly cafés nearby, so we simply had breakfast elsewhere. If arriving by car, be prepared: parking close to the hotel is difficult and getting luggage from the car to the hotel isn’t particularly convenient. However, once checked in, we didn’t need the car to explore Annecy. The young lady who welcomed us at check-in deserves a particular mention — friendly, helpful and genuinely welcoming. Overall, a very enjoyable stay and an excellent base for experiencing Annecy on foot.

Amazing stay at Hotel du Palais de l’Isle in Annecy. The receptionists were both incredibly kind and welcoming, which made the experience even better. The location is absolutely perfect and stunning, right in the heart of the city. The room was fantastic — comfortable and beautifully done. Highly recommended! Definitely will come back again and again!

Good location. Very near to the attraction points. But air con was not strong and even broken. Our room faced the back said of the building it was dirty and smell not good. Could not open the window. But luckily the air con has fixed at the second day. But still not strong enough

The hotel was ideally located in the old town, with easy access to the lake and cycle routes. The staff were very helpful in organising transfer for us. The rooms are well appointed and good use is made of the space

I have just come back from a two night stay here with my daughter. The hotel is in a brilliant location, perfect for visiting Annecy and right next to the canal. Our room was adequate for us with a comfy bed. The bathroom was fine, although the toilet was separate and tiny. Okay for us but not sure about people with long legs! The bath was small too. There is a tiny lift but still stairs to navigate so I wouldn’t recommend this hotel for the less able. After 9pm you have to use your key to get into the hotel main door. Check it works as ours stopped working during our stay and we had to get a new one. Breakfast was good and we were greeted by happy staff who were lovely. In fact, all the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel.

Great place. The main concern is a single very, very small elevator, that necessitated waits of sometimes 15+ minutes. Otherwise, room, breakfast, and location were terrific.
