It was my first time traveling solo and I stayed in samesun. The hostel was really nice and they have free breakfast that comes with your booking so whether or not you need food in the morning, it’s available until 10am. Plus the staff are friendly and helpful. Would come back to banff and still choose samesun.

I've been coming back to Banff over the past seven years and always stay at Samesun ^_^ |It's clean, consistent, peaceful, the dorms are well equpit with bathrooms and good showers and you get a free towel! and shampoo, conditioner and shower gel is thrown in too so you dont have to worry about buying bulky plastic bottles which is great for you and the environment :) The staff are lovely ^_^ Cant rate any of them highly enough. I came back after a four month stint in Banff years ago and when I returned years later it turned out the staff even remebered me, welcoming me back with open arms which felt really nice. Now it's my fourth/fifth time? coming here and the place has turned into a little home from home, here we're all travellers some are just staying longer than others :) Location is fantastic too, its a short walk from the town centre so it's quiet outside. Bus stops close by for the free shuttle to the mountain, secure storage for bags, skis, boards etc, really comfortable common room and a really nice bar open to the public which serves amazing food, has happy hours and fun nights like music bingo and trivia night ^_^ Oh and in the morning they serve free buffet style breakfast in the bar :D

I had an amazing stay at this hostel in Banff and would definitely recommend it to anyone visiting the area! The staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help, which made me feel at home from the moment I arrived. The location is excellent and close to everything while still being a great place to relax after a day of exploring. The room was surprisingly spacious and very comfortable. I especially appreciated the comfortable beds, the personal locker for storage, and the fan, which made the room much more comfortable. The bathroom was modern, clean, and one of the nicest hostel bathrooms I’ve used. Breakfast was delicious and had a great selection to start the day. I also really enjoyed the group activities, they were well organized and made it easy to meet other travelers from around the world. Overall, everything exceeded my expectations. Great atmosphere, excellent facilities, wonderful staff, and fantastic value for money. I would definitely stay here again!

First time staying at a hostel and it was such a great experience. Easy check in process, cozy atmosphere and location, and the perfect place to make other traveler friends. I loved the amenities of the hostel and the cleanliness of the dorms, beds, and bathrooms. We had a comfortable stay and would come back again.

I was in a 6-bed female room. Nice that it was an option. The room was incredibly hot even at night when it was cool outside which made it hard to sleep. The sink is outside the toilet/shower room that's direct private access for our room which is nice, but it means we can hear everyone using the sink while we sleep which isn't ideal. The two bunks against the wall were as expected. But the one freestanding bunk didn't have curtains on the other sides so wasn't very private. We stayed 7 nights, and all but the last night the shower would back up with 3" of water before slowly draining, we did bring it to attention on day 2. The kitchen had all the necessary items, including areas for sharing/using "free" foods people left behind, and very large refrigerators. Rumor has it there used to be an excellent common room that people would gather in for games and socializing - and that it's now a bunk room like the others - it's a shame, I think that's be a really great space & asset to the experience! The location is IDEAL as everything is right outside: tunnel mountain, downtown, grocery store, the Roam transit pickup spots & the banff airporter even picks up there. Would I do it again? Probably - Banff is a very expensive town and the Samesun has enough going for it that it was worth it.

I stayed here for six days and was very pleased with the overall experience. The other guests were considerate, the staff very accommodating, and the breakfast were better than expected. I recommend staying here if you’re into hostels.

Did not have shower gel throughout my stay there and reported twice but still not provided. The lock in the door or en-suite nearly broken in the mixed dormitory 6 bed and rooms not cleaned thoroughly especially when some residents don’t follow the instructions and leave the rooms untidy. Positive side very good breakfast with welcoming staff and good location. Would recommend this hostel.
