I honestly don’t understand why this place has received some bad reviews. Maybe people are referring to an older experience, or perhaps they’ve mistaken it for another place, because my experience was completely different. I highly recommend staying here. The staff are incredibly nice, welcoming, and helpful—especially Atif at the reception, who was very kind and professional. The rooms were spotlessly clean, the kitchen was nice and conveniently located next to the terrace, and the prices are very reasonable. But the real highlight is the terrace, it’s absolutely mesmerizing, with a wonderful quit atmosphere that makes me want to sit there forever and enjoy the view while working on my laptop. Overall, I had a really pleasant experience and would definitely come back. Highly recommended!

I don’t understand why this hostel has such low rating. It’s perfectly located 5 mins from main square but also from mountain 🏔️. The guys working there don’t speak much other than Arabic but they are so nice and friendly. And the most important ! You can pay with card!!!!!|The only “bad” thing was that in the bathroom there is big window always opened and it’s cold 🥶 at night.

Lovely staff, comfy and clean beds, quiet rooms and amazing terrace for a more than affordable price this is luxury. Only downside is the shower can be improved, for the rest the bathrooms are very clean. Not sure what the bad reviews are indicating as false advertisement, the pics on google are pretty authentic, maybe they refer to booking?

For the price, you can't expect luxury. I stayed two nights in April 2019 and pretty much got what I expected: a small room with a twin bed, shared bathroom, smell of smoke here and there (though there are signs up in the common areas prohibiting smoking). The common areas could be more welcoming, but the rooftop terrace is nice. Main complaint is the noise -- each tiny noise is somehow amplified. Thank god for earplugs. Four stars because the staff was friendly, security seemed good in my private room, and the room and bathroom were clean.

Hostel La Joya is a decent place in terms of location and value but lacking in other regards. Upon arriving with my girlfriend having booked a 'private double' we were shown to our room by the young male receptionist, the room was tiny and had three single beds, not what we booked. We ended up giving in and just staying in the very hot room. The hostel workers seem nice but don't speak English so that makes some simple questions more difficult, like asking for a towel for example, which looked like a game of charades. It turns out the hostel don't supply towels at all, not even for a fee. The shower room upstairs has a very low ceiling and the shower itself is cold. There is no air con in the rooms so when you wake up sweaty a cold shower is your only option. The wifi is quite good and the hostel supplies breakfast for a fee which is a positive and in terms of value for money, La Joya is right up there. It is a two minute walk from the beautiful medina and five/ten minutes in a taxi from the coach drop off point.

The stuffmembers are friendly with english talking is no Problem at all, the rooms are Clean as the Rest from the Hostel!!!!|The terrace is big and U have a nice View in the Mountains.|I will Comeback for sure and for every Backpacker or Hostel Friend i defenetly recommend this Hostel!!!|Fair prices, friendly helpfull and very competent stuffmembers. And a very good Atmosphäre... What u need more!! Dont forget ist is a Hostel and Not a 5 star overpriced hotel..... I Love that place.|
