The man made canal experience is amazing. What a beautiful setting with the lights along the canal. The buffet was excellent especially the pizza oven. Staff were always smiling and very attentive. Bed was made three times during the day. The three swimming pools was good but a bit cold although it was outdoors. The beach was warm and nice. Beautiful hotel.

This hotel features a unique style with its sandy yellow architecture reminiscent of old Dubai, making it a very comfortable stay. The terrace rooms offer beautiful views of the hotel pool and beach, and from a distance, you can even see a mosque. April mornings are delightful for sunbathing on the beach. The seafood buffet for two at AED 390 is a great deal, though the taste is just average, and dining options nearby are limited, mostly consisting of hotels and upscale residences. It's a 15-minute drive to the mosque and 30 minutes to the Louvre Museum. After 11 AM, you can enjoy a small boat ride around the hotel, which can be a bit dull but adds to the activities available. The gym is separated by gender, which might be a slight inconvenience for couples. Overall, we are very satisfied with our stay at the hotel.

Shangri-La Qaryat Al Beri is one of my favorite hotels. My partner celebrates his birthday here every year, and it truly feels like our home away from home. The rooms are always clean, the staff are welcoming, the Sofra bLd is excellent, the food is amazing, and the service is usually great. We also got a free CLUB upgrade which is great too. However, yesterday’s beach service was disappointing. We waited over 25 minutes for water, and during our 5-hour stay, we only received the initial two bottles. I also noticed other guests getting their water replenished without even asking. I hope the hotel improves this, as we expect the same level of care and service every time we visit. #abudhabi #shangri-la

I I had an exceptional stay at Shangri-La Qaryat Al Beri, Abu Dhabi. The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are immaculate, and the service is truly world-class. What made my experience even more memorable was the outstanding hospitality of Mr. Muhssin. He was incredibly professional, attentive, and genuinely cared about ensuring every detail of my stay was perfect. His warm attitude, dedication, and willingness to go above and beyond reflect the highest standards of customer service. A heartfelt thank you to Mr. Muhssin and the entire Shangri-La team for making my visit so enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel and look forward to returning soon.

My stay in this hotel was very pleasant. Some may claim that the rooms are outdated but I did not mind that, considering they were clean and tidy, and had everything available. Service was absolutely impeccable, except for the Sofra Bld breakfast and dinner buffets. Every single server I encountered was extremely rude, unprofessional and had unnecessary attitude. Except for Rathna in the breakfast buffet, she was extremely lovely and attentive. You’d think paying 300 dirhams for dinner would get you average service at the least, however all I got was rude stares, and judgement on my attire. And drinks are not even included, even water! This was really unfortunate because the food was delicious, there was a broad selection of food in both the breakfast and dinner, I enjoyed every cuisine. The infinity pool is gorgeous with a great view. All the lifeguards were really friendly, they provide two towels, lay one of them on your preferred sun-bed and get you two bottles of cold water. The bar service was average. Overall, my stay was really peaceful due to them not having many customers at the time. I will definitely be coming back.

From reception until our last day, the experience was amazing. My toddlers felt right at home. The staff were genuinely friendly and even took the time to play with them and the kids loved their mini-sized room slippers, such a lovely little touch. The only suggestion I’d make: for a hotel that positions itself as family-friendly, adding a kids’ club would be a great additional option for parents who want a bit more structured fun (and maybe a few minutes to relax!). Overall, a wonderful stay for our family, and we’d happily come back. Highly recommend for anyone traveling with young kids.

Overall, I had a pleasant stay, but it didn’t quite live up to the Shangri-La standard I’ve experienced at the London and Paris properties. The signature Shangri-La fragrance created a wonderful first impression on arrival, although it seemed to be confined to the reception area rather than throughout the hotel. The location also felt a little unusual. While the views of the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque are undeniably spectacular, I couldn’t help feeling that a Shangri-La resort is at its best when set on a true beachfront with crystal-clear sea views. It was an enjoyable stay, but it lacked some of the distinctive sense of luxury and destination that I’ve come to associate with the brand. The lightbulb in my toilet wasn’t working so had to use phone flashlight, the iron stained my clothes when I pressed the steam button and black bits fell out of it. Just overall felt like it could’ve been a lesser hotel chain.

Unfortunately, our stay at Shangri-La Qaryat Al Beri was far from what we expected from a hotel of this reputation. While there were certainly some positive aspects, the overall experience was disappointing, and several issues significantly affected our stay. Reception and Staff: One of the biggest disappointments was the attitude of some of the staff, particularly at reception. We found them to be unnecessarily rude and unwelcoming, with an attitude that made it feel as though they were simply trying to get things done as quickly as possible rather than genuinely assisting guests. Hospitality should be one of the most important aspects of a hotel experience, and unfortunately, this was lacking during our stay. We also experienced an issue with the booking price. When we made our reservation through the hotel’s call center, the price quoted to us by the lady who handled our booking was completely different from the amount we were asked to pay upon arrival. We were shocked to discover that the final amount was more than double what we had been told over the phone. This was extremely frustrating and should be investigated, as guests should be able to rely on the price they are given when making a reservation. Buffet: The buffet had a good variety of food overall, but there was very little change from one day to another. The same dishes were repeatedly served in the same locations every day, which made the dining experience feel repetitive, especially for guests staying for several nights. Room: The room itself was okay and generally comfortable, but unfortunately, during our stay, the ceiling of the bathroom began leaking water. This was obviously not something we expected to encounter during a stay at a hotel of this standard and was another issue that took away from the overall experience. Beach: The hotel has a beautiful beach, which is definitely one of its positive features. We understand that guests cannot remain on the beach at night due to coastal regulations set by the police, and of course, we respect those rules. However, the way some of the beach staff handled this was disappointing. We were asked to leave the beach around sunset in a manner that felt unnecessarily rude. Even when enforcing rules that guests must follow, staff can still communicate them respectfully and professionally. Smoking in the Lobby: Another major concern was the fact that smoking is allowed in the lobby area. We were very surprised to see guests smoking in the bar, which is located directly within the lobby. As a result, the entire area had a noticeable smell of cigarettes and cigars. This is particularly concerning because guests may have respiratory or other health conditions that can be affected by exposure to smoke. Regardless of whether smoking is technically permitted in the area, having a smoking environment directly within the hotel’s main lobby is something we found extremely unpleasant and believe deserves serious reconsideration. Overall, there were some good aspects to the hotel, particularly the beautiful beach and the variety of food available. However, the combination of the unprofessional attitude from some staff, the unexpected and significantly higher booking price, the repetitive buffet, the bathroom leak, the way beach rules were communicated, and the smoking environment in the lobby made our stay extremely disappointing. For a hotel carrying the Shangri-La name, we expected a much higher standard of hospitality, communication, and attention to guest comfort. Unfortunately, the majority of our experience did not meet those expectations.
