Honestly I wasn’t expecting much based on other reviews, but I was very happy with my stay here. My parents and I were staying in Amsterdam for 2 nights and got a room here. There really wasn’t anything impressive about the room - 3 small beds pushed together, a tiny bathroom. But since we didn’t spend any time in our hotel room except for sleeping, we were okay with that. The hotel staff were incredibly nice. They even held our luggage for us after we checked out so we could explore the city before our train ride out. Free breakfast that we really enjoyed. We mentioned that we were hot the first night, so they brought us a fan the second night. Even extra towels too. After picking up our luggage, we stayed and talked to the front desk employee for a bit. He was incredibly nice and welcoming. This isn’t the kind of hospitality you get at a chain hotel. Also, the location is incredible. Very close to the train station and the heart of the city. We could walk everywhere. If I ever find myself back in Amsterdam, I would stay there again. We genuinely liked the hotel.

Hotel Jimmy was great! I have to admit, when I first read the reviews, I was skeptical. However, it was great. A budget hotel, for sure, but RIGHT in the middle of Central Amsterdam, a short walk from the train station. Beds were comfortable, room was clean. We had our own bathroom. Staff was amazing! Super helpful and super friendly. They helped with our bags up and down the stairs (It is Europe - all small hotels are like this). Best tea/coffee/orange juice in the morning. We would definitely stay here again!.

I made this booking online and from the moment arriving at the front door I was greated with dirt. The whole establishment just screamed dirty! I asked to see my room and was really surprised by the dirty smell and small size. I decided that this will not do for me and looked for alternative accomodation. During my stay in Amsterdam I visited a bar across the street and the clients going in and out of the hotel really did not look like people I would want in rooms near me. Think twice (or 10 times) before you book here. Do not get fooled by the pictures.

As other reviews, the "hotel" is near Centraal Station, which is one the reasons I booked. The stairs were steep and twisty on the way in, and there is no lift - so if you have large luggage, this can be a struggle. The guy on receptionist was nice and upgraded the room at no extra cost as I had made a mistake when booking. He then asked me if I wanted a towel, which I thought came as standard with a "hotel" stay. Alarm bells started to ring when I read "Items left in the room are at your own risk and not the hotel's responsibility". Also, breakfast had a tiny window of between 9-10 and checkout was 10:30. When I got into the room, it was small, dirty and smelt of bleach. They say the rooms are non-smoking but reception clearly isn't as that stank of smoke. The TV in the room was small, above the door, and had sellotape on the front of it + no remote - although I think you have to ask for this at reception (for whatever reason). The noise from the street was practically like having the window open, so not so much sleep there. I decided to wake up at 6am and get the hell out. This is clearly a hostel and not a hotel, and at the price you pay, there are better options out there. It scores points for location and staff (and the shower was ok as well) but don't expect a classy room.

The place is very affordable and walking distance from most tourist attractions (5 minutes away from central station). Staff are welcome and friendly. The room that I stayed in was gross imo. it lacks AC, proper toilet, it was small and wasn't well-kept i didnt feel comfortable showeing barefoot because it felt it was dirty. The breakfast is good. They serve a cup of coffee, 2 slices of bread with butter and one egg. I recommend this hotel if you couldn't afford anywhere else.

We were told “excellent” on Hotels.com ratings, but for what? ( the property is listed as CS as central station, but the outside banner says Hotel Jimmy??) There’s no upfront information that the bathroom and the shower ( pendejos and human hair on the floor) are shared with six other rooms on the same flat. The bed was clean, but couldn’t find the advertised TV service remote control…and lastly there’s no central or AC in the room, so we had to sleep with a window open and hear all the night commotion downstairs street. Joey at the second floor “lobby” was very nice and knowledgeable ( for his 4th night at the job) We booked 2 night and run the following day, no refunds so far

I would not recommend this hotel. There is no information on their website stating the amount of steep stairs you will have to climb to get to your room. Our room had black mold around the windows due to dampness. The ‘double’ bed might as well have been a single, it was too small for two adults to comfortably sleep in. The bed sheets/pillows didn’t smell clean. The radiator/pipes would start to shake and make loud noises during the night. This happened every half hour or so, keeping us wide awake. No soap in the communal toilet to wash your hands. Location is very central and convenient however, the noise from outside is non stop so just be aware of this. Lastly, make sure you take your cash and important belongings with you when you go out as we were told by people and from reading reviews that the staff go into your room while you’re out and things go missing.

Filthy! I know the toilets were not cleaned as I put a wrapper in the bin and two days later it was still there, along with the empty toilet roll holder. Hair in showers for the days we spent there. Rickety bed, light hanging off the wall and stains on doona cover. No lift and tiny, unsafe spiral stairs to navigate. Quite rude and lazy person on the desk who slept a lot, probably to avoid cleaning the toilets, Good location is all I can say,
