Hotel is closed. Be careful and do not book unless you can verify it has re-opened. We booked for Valentine’s Day weekend through Booking.com three months earlier and our reservation was confirmed at that time. However, the week before our trip we got suspicious when the hotel’s website no longer worked and we noticed other Google reviews saying the hotel was closed. We contacted Booking.com and they confirmed for us that the hotel was closed. We had to scramble to book another hotel at the last minute.

When you book with booking.com, and get a confirmation two days before you arrive, the expectation is that the hotel you booked with is open. Right now, $182.96 of my money was taken from me in September for this reservation. I am having my bank dispute it. We had to look for another one while I had a very bad back from travel. This is completely unacceptable by both booking.com and this property. Booking.com is a nightmare to contact, as well. They hung up on me now less than 6 times.

I almost don't want to tell people about this special place so that it remains one of those quaint special hotels you want to return to time and time again. The landscaping is breathtaking. The rooftop view amazing. The staff is perfect. Breakfast is included and a hearty sit-down affair with impeccable service in a beautiful courtyard with hanging tropical plants with the sound of a fountain. It's safe, secure, beautiful, and the rooms are accommodating and air conditioned. The pictures on the website are for real.

Hotel is closed for renovations. Unfortunately didn't learn this (through other google reviews) until the day before I was set to arrive- they had taken my booking two weeks prior without any communication that the hotel would be closed during my arrival dates. No website or social media posts or any internet footprint that states the closure dates. Do NOT book here when there are other reliable and communicative hotels in Antigua.

My husband and I stayed her for a first visit to Antigua and I can't say enough how much I loved it. I got car sick on my way from the airport to Antigua and right away Sergei (sp?) greeted us and offered me a cold water and my husband a cold beer. He then brought us to our room where I was able to lay down. The room was small but adequate. It was stuffy but there was a fan. And after some rest I was able to leave the room. The location the hotel is ideal especially if you are coming for Cuaresma y Semana Santa. The rooftop is a great place to do yoga in the morning and gives you great views of the volcanoes. The courtyard is also very nice to just sit and relax after a day of exploring. It was nice to start every morning with breakfast that came with the room rate. Neither my husband nor I speak very much spanish but were able to communicate with the staff. They helped us with ordering food for delivery, places to eat, procession routes, and transportation to the airport after our previous booking canceled on us. They also upgraded their ac while we were there and all the rooms now have ac and it worked almost too well. Very clean and safe. And there is a pharmacy right next door in case you eat from a street vendor that your gut told you not to but you did anyways.

This place is exquisite. The grounds are beautiful and relaxing. The service and staff are both excellent. There is air conditioning in the well-appointed and clean rooms. It is quiet. We got some of the best sleep we've had in forever here. The mattresses are great. In a beautiful courtyard literally dripping with orchids, there is breakfast made to order included for the price. Filtered water is readily available for no charge. While relaxing on the beautiful rooftop where you can see ruins and all the volcanoes surrounding Antigua, we could smell one of the Lenten processions before hearing it and walked down to the street for a close-up view. It's close to the Plaza and within walking distance to most everything, and I have a bad hip. While there, go visit A Ver Quien Soy Cafe for great coffee and amazing food. When we come back, we'll definitely stay here again.

We were very happy with our 4-night stay here. Arrived late in the evening via our own arranged transportation and we were checked into a modest size sleeping room, we did not complain. The next day, the manager offered us a larger room that was available and it honestly made our stay so much more enjoyable, thank you. They have a charming courtyard full of furniture, flowers and lap blankets and the decor is reminiscent of the cathedral name. Coffee is on early in the morning and the staff is bustling to put out cushions on the rooftop chairs for your personal comfort. There are many choices for breakfast and they will also accommodate changes whenever possible. Only a block from the main square, you can spend leisurely evenings there or walk to any restaurants, excursions, etc. I purposely picked this over the town's 5-star hotel due to it's location and personal expression...I'm glad I did. BTW, the hostel next door stops the partying at 10 pm promptly so it's not a problem. Enjoy!

Five days before we were supposed to stay there, I got an email from the hotel saying they will be closed during the time of our reservation (which we had booked six months in advance). They told us that WE need to cancel our reservation, but we had a nonrefundable reservation. Be careful booking with them because they are not reliable!!
