I enjoyed my stay at Ilissos Hotel. My room was clean, comfortable and well appointed. The air conditioning worked very well, and the bed was especially comfortable. The front desk staff were pleasant and helpful throughout my stay. When I had to leave for the airport very early in the morning, they even provided me with a breakfast box to take with me—a thoughtful touch. One of the highlights of the hotel is its top floor café/bar, which offers incredible nighttime views of the Parthenon. The menu consists of drinks and relatively simple meals, but both the food quality and service were good. The view alone makes it well worth a visit. Getting there from Athens Airport was also fairly easy. Rather than taking an expensive taxi, I took the train to Syntagma station and then an inexpensive Uber to the hotel. I found this faster and more convenient than taking public transportation for the entire journey. Overall, I had a very comfortable stay and particularly appreciated the friendly service, rooftop views and good value.

Stayed At Hotel Ilissos while spending two nights in Athens. Front desk service is excellent. Very helpful. Rooms are a little small, but that is ok. They have a roof top bar and sitting area. Plenty of restaurants in the surrounding area.

Comfortable beds and nice warm shower. Nice quite and safe area of Athens. Plenty of bars and restaurants just hundred of meters away. Breakfast if ok.Nice, cozy resto at the top overlooking the Acroplis and one the hills but the food is mediciore. Loved how they organise a taxi going to the airport. Metro and buses are few hundred meters away and easy to commute.

Despite the hotel having a 3.8 rating on Google (as of October 2026), we were pleasantly surprised. The hotel was very clean, towels were changed regularly, and the housekeeping ladies truly did an honest job, which I really appreciate as I always pay attention to such details. The receptionists were also very kind, and the breakfast staff was great as well. The rooms are adequate for the price, nothing is dirty or neglected, and the bathrooms are sparkling clean. The only thing that disappointed us, though it won’t take away from our overall rating, was a lady during our last breakfast. She was very unpleasant when we wanted to come in for breakfast literally 3 minutes early (at 6:57 AM instead of 7:00 AM), even though the food was already set up, there were other guests inside, and other staff members had no problem with this on previous days. We politely explained that we had to leave for the airport, and she eventually let us in, but making such a scene was really unnecessary. Nevertheless, we are leaving with a pleasant feeling and would definitely stay here again when in Athens! One last tip: besides good restaurants, the area also has various travel agencies offering great day trips around Greece.

Starting with the positives, the hotel staff are really friendly and serviceminded. The cleanliness is good and the breakfast is ticking all the must have boxes.|However the hotel is a bit dated when it comes to the interior, and the soundproofing from the corridors is poor. |If these are things you can live with the hotel is kind of good value.

Friendly staff. The rooms are not sound proof. Unfortunately my room 101 was close to the stairs and lift and it was noisy all the time. The hotel management should consider sound proofing the rooms. It’s a real disturbance. Breakfast was less than mediocre. Nothing special. Just 4 hot foods - fried eggs, boiled eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes. Rest are cold cuts and fruit salads. Can add more hot foods items. Considering the price is 13€ for breakfast the items served does not meeting the expectations.

Old hotel. Reasonable price. The breakfast is poor for 4 stars hotel. When I open the door of the room, I saw a cocrach to run. So I can't say how clean is the hotel. At 11 o'clock I was on the reception to talk for something and when I went up in my room to take my luggage, the door was locked. I went back to the reception and they told me that my time in the hotel is finished and for that reason they locked the door! For 1-2 minutes??? Finally they open the door for me, but that left me bad emotions.

The only real advantage of this hotel is its location.The beds are very uncomfortable. A “double bed” is actually two single beds pushed together, which is far from ideal. Sound insulation is also poor – you can clearly hear guests opening and closing their room doors throughout the day and night.The breakfast is not worth paying extra for. You can have best brekfast in 3min walk near hotel in Bel-Ray cafe for same cost. The selection is very limited, and there are much better cafés nearby.Overall, this hotel does not meet the standards expected from a 4-star property.
