I had a very enjoyable stay at Parkside Hotel & Apartments and felt it offered great value for money. The room was comfortable, and I especially loved the Spa Room. Having a private jacuzzi was a wonderful way to relax after a long day. The heated pool was another highlight, especially during winter. It felt like a little onsen experience in Japan, and I found myself spending quite a bit of time there. The view overlooking the park was peaceful and refreshing, with plenty of greenery despite being in the city. The location is also convenient, with many places within walking distance. What really made my stay memorable was the staff. The housekeeping team, both the gentleman and the lady who looked after my room, were always kind, polite, and friendly. I did not get their names, but they truly deserve recognition. The Filipino receptionist, I believe her name was Janine, and the other Asian gentleman at reception were exceptional. They were welcoming, accommodating, and consistently went the extra mile, not only for me but for other guests as well. It was lovely to see such genuine hospitality. The only areas for improvement would be that the hair dryer in my room was not working, and some parts of the hotel feel a little dated. However, these were minor issues compared with the excellent service and overall experience. Overall, I would happily stay here again and recommend Parkside Hotel & Apartments to anyone looking for a comfortable stay with outstanding customer service and great value for money.

Couldn’t check in until 3pm, and after 23 hours on planes, desperate for a shower, but we were able to leave our cases there and head out to explore. |The room was clean. The kitchenette had kettle, hob, toaster and microwave. There were 2 mugs, 2 large plates, 4 glasses, 2 bowls, 2 knives,2 forks, 1 soup spoon and 1 dessert spoon. I didn’t intend to do any cooking so enough for breakfast.|The bed was comfortable, bathroom ok.|BUT, there was no working air con!! on a day when temperature in the room was above 30* !| Went to reception. Someone else was there with the same problem and the response was ‘look at the terms and conditions, nothing we can do about it. The T&Cs were changed in February when problem with air con occurred.’ We booked before February, so should have been informed and given the option to cancel and book elsewhere. We weren’t informed. We were very unhappy about it, told the hotel was fully booked so couldn’t change rooms. There was one pedestal fan in the room which was inadequate. Reception grudgingly gave us another fan which helped a little. I do believe we should have some compensation for this, mainly for the way the problem was handled. We did not get what we paid for. Fortunately we were only there2 nights. Avoid this hotel

Hotel receptionist Smitri was exceptionally helpful and accommodating. Although we booked through a third-party service and didn’t reserve a parking space, she went out of her way to find one for us. She was polite and empathetic, especially considering our situation traveling with a toddler. We thoroughly enjoyed the pool, and the room was clean and well-maintained, the kitchenette is a bunos! Kudos to the housekeeping team as well, the room was still serviced even after 5 PM, which we really appreciated. Would love to book again in the future!

No air conditioning and no warning there is none. Sweltering hot room. The parking signage is contradictory as staff can have family members park in front to visit city. Sign clearly states under no exception is cars to be left parking in front. That is quite rude. A guest checking out is stopping just to give key card over and check out. A staff members family parks behind and walks down road. Making guest stuck to move out and leave. The sign is law yet staff are allowed to circumvent this and guest was made to wait for over an hour for car user to return from city before travelling to next hotel down country. I witnessed it all and the guest was visiting from overseas with a hired van! When a sign is put up then that is policy! Bending the policy like the staff here is showing disregard for taking care of client unless they are family?Must inform people of no air conditioning before they book as it is very misleading!!! Mysteriously the air conditioning works in the entrance where staff are. Just not in almost all the rooms.Hardly any sleep when room way too hot. Outside on one of their pillars has the sign stating about parking out front.Yet staff are allowed to let their families park however long they want out the front. Stayed here 3 year before and the spa bath dirty. Key card not work so was treated like I was stupid and staff member find out the key card not work and had to go back down stairs to cut me new one. I had my aunty with me when booking and it included breakfast and parking with which I was denied at hotel and told that was not inclusive in the booking. At least that first time the room had air conditioning...

The location is good now with the opening of the k road train station, but other than that this place was terrible. When I arrived for my 2 night stay I was given a contract to sign, taking $200 deposit, and stating a lot of rules. I signed and got to my room and it was absolutely disgusting. Not just from the previous cleans, but year of built up gunk in corners, rips in the damp carpet, mould in the bathroom etc. Obviously the cleaners get a very tight time frame to achieve what they have to and it's not enough, and management is too cheap to do basic maintenance. The windows were filthy, everything was filthy. When I tried to connect to the wifi it took me to an unsecured site, so I didn't. I went to try and leave, I suggested a refund for the second night (meeting them halfway), which they absolutely refused. The customer service was terrible, and I stayed the night trying not to touch anything. I would never stay here again

Was a bit disappointed with our room. Room was quite run down there was gaps between the carpet and walls, balcony was very dirty. Was definitely not as advertised. But the staff were lovely people and super easy to talk to

Worst experience while visiting New Zealand do not stay here. First, the air conditioner has been down for close to 6 months (from reading older google reviews) bit they don’t mention this until you check in. Didn’t seem like the end of the world as there is a door and window in the room, except the homeless people like to have nightly parties a 3 am in the morning screaming, yelling and playing loud music. So had to choose to either stay cool and comfortable, or not listen to the homeless half the night, not enjoyable. Cleanliness is low. Carpet feels dirty and there mold in bathroom, no body soap or shampooo in shower either. Maintenance is horrible, cracked tiles, grout missing. Best part in bathroom was seeing a couple of ants crawl by. Thank god we didn’t start our trip off in New Zealand here and got to experience the beauty of the country before this. One of the worst hotels I have stayed at.

I am writing this to warn future guests about a severe safety hazard in this hotel's underground car park. Upon arrival, I paid a $50 parking fee and proceeded to the underground garage. As I drove through the roller gate, the gate malfunctioned and dropped directly onto my vehicle (Mercedes-Benz SL 43), causing physical damage on bonnet..When I reported this dangerous equipment failure to hotel management, they offered no apology. Management refused to take responsibility, citing a waiver form to deny liability and directing me to handle it through my own insurance.The lack of maintenance on their parking gates poses a genuine physical danger to guests, and the management's total disregard for customer safety and service is unacceptable. I have fully documented the incident with photographs and am pursuing the matter formally. The experience I had with Parkside Hotel was the worst day of my life.. I paid for under undercover safe parking got my card as soon as I took my car to go and scan it the gate went up within five seconds the gate dropped on my car as I was driving in.. three more seconds if I don’t reverse my car on time I would’ve been dead the wind screen would’ve smashed And I wouldn’t be here today.. I went n told the staff there when I told him straight away he saw everything on the camera he took videos of it I asked him to send it to me several times not once you sent it to me… Proceed with extreme caution if parking a vehicle here. I’m very lucky that I am alive today. And the gate dismiss the windscreen… I had a shit birthday it was like the worst day for me day… In the swimming pool was dirty and there was bird shit everywhere on the balcony… And the staff were so rude…I was in shock was and I was scared in tears… The staff I checked in with was nice .. vikash from management was really nice and even offered me a complimentary room to come and have a better experience next time… but the area manager I don’t think she should be every Manager at all she was not helpful one bit n rude… I said to the lady I could’ve been dead if I didnt reverse my car fast enough the windscreen would’ve smashed… this is the hotel’s property they should make sure that it’s safe for customers…
