The staff were friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived. Valet parking and the front desk were especially attentive. Both the breakfast wait staff and the bar staff were efficient and pleasant. Check‑out was a breeze, and overall the experience was excellent.

We spent two days at SO/ Auckland celebrating a special occasion, and the team made us feel incredibly welcome and well looked after from start to finish. The staff were lovely, especially Carla went out of their way to make the trip feel extraordinary. Traveling with a young child can sometimes be tricky, but everything here was wonderfully family-friendly. Beautiful service, stunning rooms, and amazing facilities - we couldn't have asked for a better experience!

We absolutely loved our stay! From the warm welcome with Sudesh upon arrival to the smooth and thoughtful farewell, the entire experience was seamless. The facilities were excellent, and the room design was beautiful. A special thank you to Sudesh, who was absolutely amazing and went above and beyond to help us throughout our stay. We can’t thank him enough for making our experience so memorable. We would happily stay here again!

My sister and I stayed here for 6 nights and unfortunately, our stay at SO/ Auckland was very disappointing and fell well short of the standard we expected from a 5-star hotel. The first issue was breakfast. As we had an early tour and needed to leave the hotel at 5:30 am, reception suggested we arrange a breakfast box by informing the restaurant the day before. We followed these instructions, only to arrive the next morning to discover they had completely forgotten. We were instead handed a thrown-together sandwich with a smelly piece of ham and plastic cheese. This was incredibly disappointing, particularly given that we had done exactly what the hotel had asked us to do. The room itself also had some practical issues. The curtains were difficult to open and close because they were obstructed by the furniture and vanity, making something as simple as adjusting the curtains unnecessarily frustrating. Finally, the minibar situation was particularly disappointing. The hotel’s website states that the minibar is complimentary, yet there was no information in the room indicating that charges applied to the items provided. We were only informed of the cost when we checked out. If the minibar is not complimentary, the website needs to be updated, and a clear price list should be provided in the room to avoid confusion and unexpected charges. Individually, these issues might seem minor, but together they made for a frustrating experience and left us questioning the level of service being offered. For a hotel positioning itself as a luxury 5-star property, we expected much better attention to detail, communication and customer service. Sadly, SO/ Auckland did not live up to our expectations, and we left feeling very disappointed.

The hotel is quite stunning. The rooftop bar offers some nice views and drinks are reasonably priced. The room is lovely and very clean on arrival . A welcome pastry was brought to us by the concierge and was delicious. Location is right in the heart of Auckland, so a great place to be, but a little noisy late at night on the weekends. Very easy to get to and from the airport

The room was great, even after confusion on pre-payment not being recognised at check-in. Also paying for valet parking and then having to park your car yourself because the staff member cant drive a manual seems a bit strange. Hotel is very modern and if you're not used to a few quirks, it could be an interesting experience. Staff were lovely and enjoyed the Hi So rooftop bar. Breakfast was fantastic. Some really nice options.

Warm welcome to two tired Scottish tourists who arrived at 5am after flight delays. Room was ready and waiting. Spacious, clean, good amenities. Great comfy bed. And good view - even at 5am. Quiet. Just what we needed. Jet lag kicked in and up very early for breakfast. Good buffet option and prepared omelette. Importantly good size teapot! All staff met were friendly and helpful.

I was very disappointed with my stay. For what is marketed as a luxury 5-star hotel, the experience felt surprisingly cheap. The TV in the room didn’t have Netflix, YouTube, or other popular streaming services, and the entertainment options were very limited. Travelling with my young son made this even more frustrating. He wanted to watch YouTube on the TV, but because it wasn’t available, I ended up having to give him my phone instead, which wasn’t ideal. The food was also a major letdown. The options felt very limited, especially when travelling with a young child. In the end, I had to order Uber Eats for my son because there wasn’t much available that suited him. For the price you’re paying, I expected a much better selection and overall dining experience. The best part of my stay was definitely the pool and gym. Both facilities were excellent, well maintained, and were the highlight of the hotel experience for me. My son absolutely loved the pool and had a great time swimming, which was one of the few highlights of our stay. Overall, the hotel looks flashy, but the experience didn’t match the price or reputation. I wouldn’t stay here again and wouldn’t recommend spending my money here again.
