The Alus Cottage and Villa

The best time to visit is from May to September, when rain days drop to 19-24 per month and humidity is at its lowest. July is the driest and most pleasant month, with cooler nights around 19°C. Avoid January through March and November to December, when nearly every day brings rain and humidity stays above 90%. Temperatures remain steady year-round, so the dry season is your window for clear skies and easier sightseeing.

Seminyak suits beach lovers and nightlife seekers, with many hotels and easy access to Petitenget and Double Six beaches. Ubud is ideal for culture and nature, close to the Sacred Monkey Forest and rice terraces, with resorts like Padma Resort Ubud. Nusa Dua offers calm, upscale beachfront stays, including The Ritz-Carlton Bali. Sanur is a relaxed, family-friendly coastal area with a long beach promenade, where Maya Sanur Resort & Spa is located.

Tanah Lot is a dramatic sea temple on a rock, iconic at sunset. The Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary in Ubud offers a chance to see long-tailed macaques in a lush temple setting. Tegallalang Rice Terrace showcases Bali's famous stepped rice fields. Ulun Danu Beratan Temple sits on a lake, a serene and photogenic water temple. Goa Gajah, the Elephant Cave, is an ancient archaeological site with intricate carvings.

Full-day tours from Bali head to Bohol for snorkeling at Balicasag and hopping to Virgin Island, and to Anda Beach for a relaxed coastal day. These tours cover the island destinations, not Bali itself. For a classic Bali day trip, consider Ubud for its rice terraces and monkey forest, or Tanah Lot for the sea temple at sunset.

Plan 5 to 7 days for Bali. In 5 days, you can see Tanah Lot, the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary, Tegallalang Rice Terrace, and Ulun Danu Beratan Temple, with time for a waterfall like Banyumala. Add a day for a day trip to a farther sight, such as the Bali Bird Park or Goa Gajah, if you want a slower pace. A week lets you split time between the coast and Ubud without rushing.
