Our stay here was overall wonderful. We came during a heat wave in the summer and arrive very jet lagged. Our first room we were checked into was on the 4th floor and due to the heat wave the AC could not keep up. We asked that next morning if they had any rooms lower and not facing a sun exposed wall and the staff was so helpful to accommodate us. We were able that day after another guest checked out, to move to a 2nd floor room that was able to be much much colder. The whole staff was very kind and welcoming. The door to the hotel is locked at night and a staff member has to open it. We felt very safe staying here and were very comfortable. The location was great. 45 minute walk to Segrata Familia and 5 minute walk to so many wonderful restaurants. I don’t know if they have bigger rooms but my husband and I fit very comfortably in the 2 twin bed room.

My husband and I had the best experience at Hotel Catalunya! The room is clean, cozy and spacious. The service is topnotch as the staff are very accommodating and prompt in providing our needs. The housekeeping is also nice. I would say the location is its best attribute as it is at the city center accessible to all shops and groceries plus it is quiet at night and has a beautiful view of the street perfect for an I'm-in-Europe aura farming! I would definitely return and recommend the hotel to my family and friends!

We had a great stay at Hotel Catalunya. The rooms are big and clean. It ‘s very close to the Metro station and shopping area. Convenient location and easily accessible from the airport with the airport bus- short walk from the last bus stop (Placa Catalunya). Staff are friendly and helpful.

We recently stayed here for several days; the staff could not have been more helpful or friendly. Staff members speak multiple languages and were eager to recommend the best ways to travel to locations around the city. Our room was spotless and the cleaning staff very thorough. The fitness center, though cozy, had great equipment and a steam room. The rooftop pool was a welcome relief from the heat, and the adjacent bar was a nice addition. Breakfast is a bit pricy, but worth it if menu choices are important before setting out in the morning. The hotel is just off the Rambla avenue and near Plaza de Catalunya, with its metro stations and also the bus stop to the airport, which is a cheaper and easier option to get in and out of the city. We heartily recommend this hotel!

Ideal location for overnight stay before heading to airport. Walk 7 mins to take airport shutter bus which is a very convenient and economical way for airport transfer. The hotel has many shopping stores nearby so we did our last minute shopping before heading home. The room is small and not easy to accommodate the luggages. No mineral water provided not even for first night, which is very different practice from other hotels in Bacerlona. Lift is small and can accommodate only two pax with two luggages.

A lovely, albeit a little dated room in good condition. The king size single bed was very comfortable and the room was spacious enough for 1 person. The windows opened out onto the street below and allowed for fresh air into the room. The room also had excellent climate control too. The bathroom was good, although it was difficult trying to keep all the water in the shower, as the screen wasn't very helpful, but that didn't make the room worse, by any means. The hotel is in a great central city location, walking distance to many tourist hot spots.

If you're a single person who wants their own space in a very expensive city I'd recommend here. Single people who don't want to stay in a hostel and have no contacts in the city it's very difficult. This hotel is for you. Central location, rooms clean. Friendly staff Check in process quick Good WiFi Free biscuits at the counter and microwaves / vending machines on the floors of the hotel. The only thing I'd change is get rid of the coin operated vending machines and get coin + tap capable machines. When I come to Barca next time I'll stay here again no issues.

I had a great stay at Hotel Catalunya. The location is absolutely top notch, right in the heart of the city. You don’t need a taxi to move around because everything is within walking distance. The rooms were very good, clean, and comfortable. I also really appreciated the luggage storage service before check-in and after check-out which is very convenient and practical. Highly recommended for anyone looking to stay in the center!
