The experience here was comfortable, cozy, and welcoming, and the staff were warm and friendly. The hotel offers free muffins, coffee, and beer. The muffins were especially delicious😋👍 and the staff kindly told me where I could buy them locally. The hotel is in a great location, right in the city center. The room was modern and well-maintained, with all the facilities I needed for a comfortable stay. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would like to stay here again on my next visit.

A very disappointing experience. I was told to collect my luggage before 5:00 PM, so I arrived at 3:50 PM. However, there was no one at reception, and I hadn't received any access code to enter or retrieve my luggage. I called the emergency number several times, but no one answered, and it was impossible to leave a message. The hotel later admitted that its staff had unexpectedly left the reception desk and apologized, without offering any compensation. Even worse, they initially claimed that I hadn't tried to contact them. After I provided proof of my calls, they then claimed to have received no messages, even though their emergency line doesn't allow voicemails. Poorly organized, no assistance, and dishonest customer service. I almost missed my flight and couldn't retrieve my luggage! It was a guest who opened the door for me by chance!

This is a hostel and not a hotel and our first time in a hostel. That being said it was not bad at all. All 8 rooms are located on one floor. There is a very small elevator which 2 people and one large suitcase can barely fit on but it was fun, you have to close the doors yourself when you get on and off or the elevator does not work. The room and hallway and entrance were very clean. Very basic room with 2 single beds, a desk and chair, 3 shelf's for stuff and night stand, TV and free wifi that was just OK. Bathroom shower stall similar to a cruise ship .Mattresses were foam but firm and comfortable. There is no breakfast, just a small room with a small fridge and table if you want to bring something in to eat. The location was great , on a busy street but we did not hear any traffic in our room and we were right on the street. Walking distance to Placa Cataluña and La Rambla. . The desk staff are very nice and helpful with getting cabs, tickets and directions. And oh yes, there is a very nice lady in the hotel lobbly who is there for security and who does not speak English. But she really tried to help tell you not to leave your luggage unattended and directions. For a hostel it really was not bad if you can live with just the basics, no frills, and reasonably priced

If you’re happy with price, I guess it’s the best place to stay in, Great location near by from most of tourist places in BCN, the staff were too friendly.

The location is amazing, walking distance from Casa Batllo and Casa Mila, in the Gothic Quarter. Other famous places like Sagrada Familia and Las Ramblas are relatively close. The place is in an old building at the first floor, with amazing doors and staircase. The rooms are clean and warm during winter and the personnel is friendly. We stayed in a triple room and the only minor complaint is that the mattress of the single bed was sinking a bit in the middle. Overall think this was a great value for money and would highly recommend it.

For me the best hotel in Barcelona, the best staff and very strategic location deserves the full 10/10 mark

Frequently asked questions about Barcelona

When is the best time to visit Barcelona?

The best time to visit is May or June, when temperatures are warm and rain is moderate. September is also pleasant, though it is the rainiest month. July and August are the hottest and driest, with highs around 29°C. Winter months are mild but cooler, with more humidity. Aim for late spring or early autumn for the most comfortable weather.

Which area should I stay in in Barcelona?

For first visits, the Eixample puts you near Gaudí's masterpieces and upscale shopping, with hotels like Majestic and Almanac. The Gothic Quarter suits those wanting medieval streets and nightlife, with Duquesa de Cardona nearby. La Rambla and Plaça de Catalunya offer central convenience, with Olivia Plaza and Kimpton Vividora. For a quieter, residential feel, Sant Gervasi is calm and green, home to Hotel Boutique Mirlo.

What are the must-see attractions in Barcelona?

Start with the Basilica of the Sagrada Familia, Gaudí's unfinished masterpiece and the city's icon. Park Güell offers colorful mosaics and sweeping views. Casa Batlló and La Pedrera showcase his imaginative facades on Passeig de Gràcia. For football fans, Spotify Camp Nou is the home of FC Barcelona. Ciutadella Park is a green escape with a lake and the Arc de Triomf nearby.

What day trips can I take from Barcelona?

You can take full-day tours to Andorra, a small mountain country with duty-free shopping and scenic valleys; Girona, a medieval city with a well-preserved old town; and the Costa Brava, a rugged coastline with coves and beaches. Montserrat, a mountain monastery, is also a popular day trip. These tours cover the destinations in a single day, so you can see them without planning your own transport.

How many days do I need in Barcelona?

Plan 3 to 4 days for Barcelona. In 3 days, you can see the Sagrada Familia, Park Güell, Casa Batlló, La Pedrera, and the Gothic Quarter, plus Montjuïc Castle or Ciutadella Park. Add a fourth day for a day trip to Montserrat, Girona, or the Costa Brava, which needs a full extra day. If you want to include Spotify Camp Nou or Tibidabo, allow a fifth day.
