Tripadvisor· 8 years agoOur room was clean, the price was fantastic as for Barcelona. Beds were comfortable, the bedding was also clean. No insects as some people mentioned in their reviews. Almost always there was hot water in the bathrooms. On our floor there were 2 bathrooms and we never had problems with their availability. The staff was really nice and helpful - they were waiting for us even we arrived at the hostel in the middle of the night. The locks were working perfectly in the room, which is also very important. It was a hostel so there was no luxury but everthing was fine, especially for us, as we were only sleeping in the hostel and spend whole days in the city. Chilly temperature in the room as there was no central heating, however, it was possible to ask for a heater, which was a good solution.

Google· 6 years agoOne of the worst experiences I had in a hostel (it's actually a flat converted in a "hostel"). The staff was very noisy all the time, speaking and laughing very loudly during hours, Skype calls with their family, and so on. They even allowed an opera singer practice all Saturday morning, WTF! it was surreal! AVOID THIS PLACE!

Tripadvisor· 7 years agoI've been staying there for a week. It is hard to find that hostel. There is no sign saying where to enter. Our room was locked with a small padlock!!! There were two bathrooms on our floor: in the smaller one you coudn't lock the door from the inside, so anyone could enter while we were having a shower. In the bigger one there was a broken window... -even in Barcelona, it was too cold to have a shower with an "opened window" in December. Floor in the bathrooms was dirty although toilets (bath, sink, toilet seat) were always clean. There was a problem with electricity - bulbs in the bathroom were blinking every few minutes. Room was stuffy, it was cold there. We had only blankets to cover and it was cold during the night. Bedding was white and clean. On the "booking.com" it is said they have a hairdryer to loan - I borrowed 2, both were broken. Stuff was really ok, they are nice and helpful. When I told them about the broken lock in the bathroom, they fixed it quickly. It is close to the beach, to metro station - location is perfect. Guy at the reception told us that the buiding is in a disastrous condition, but it was approved for use and that's why they hadn't closed the hostel yet... It is very loud from the street, which is full of pubs, bars. It is easy to meet there people who offer you any illegal remedys you like. It is very cheap, but I think I don't want to go back there.

Tripadvisor· 6 years agoIf you really want to feel like you are travelling & experiencing authentic Spain: stay here. It's run by a dear couple (Anna & Alfonso if I remember correctly). They don't speak any English, which makes it an exciting experience. Alfonso used Google translate with me, which proved an utterly hilarious, eccentric conversation! |I was poorly with a cold, just wanted to lie down, but i didn't have the city tax fee on me which needed to be cash. They kindly trusted me to hand it in the next day, to save me trekking all way down & outside (WARNING! NO LIFT & TOP FLOOR) Entrance is in a big gothic-y wooden door & entrance hall & staircase old skool Spanish. |It has a unique local authentic feel lacking in any generic 4* hotel or a more mod-cons hostel. OMG my bed! (One opposite kitchen & overlooking courtyard) was like sleeping on a cloud! Such comfty memory foam pillows & mattress! A modern heater too in case i was cold. Unlimited tea & coffee. A family style breakfast table. Location UNBEATABLE. in the heart of gothic quarter. Nr beach and born. 10mins stroll to the aerobus. Beautiful authentic experience for the avid traveller who thrives on adventure & genuine, local touches! @emmypathy: travel/mental vlog

Tripadvisor· 8 years agoThe location is unbeatable, right next to the marina and only 20 minutes from the airport. The building is beautiful and the beds were clean and comfortable. We stayed in a private room for 4 with a Juliet balcony overlooking a tranquil street. Very good value for money and Hostal manager was polite and helpful. Will be returning!

Tripadvisor· 7 years agoIt IS located in the gothic area whi h IS a great location. We stayed in a room with 1 King size bed which was not that bad. The kitchen needs some work, bathrooms are quite ok but water gets cold sometimes through showering. The stairs can be a little too much especially if u come "home" at the middle of the night.

Tripadvisor· 8 years agoThis is the worst place I’ve ever stayed! Location was great and the beds and the pillows were good, the cleanliness was good. The male staff are rude and dismissive. Over the period we stayed there was a kitchenette with a washing machine and dryer (guests are not able to use them) the staff use them to was all the hostel washing - so all through the night every one - two hours the male staff member would come up slamming the doors, turning on the lights and even yapping on his cell phone. Not to mention people smoking and making noise after the 2300 cut off!!! They obviously don’t care about the guest having a nice experience there is plenty they could do to increase the comfort

Tripadvisor· 7 years agoI had a reservation from April 28 to May 2, 3 nights, but I stayed for only 2 nights because of the inconspicuous noise from the ground floor bars until 5 am, the very ugly, depressing room I do not recommend to anyone, I think I am and some mites because she ate my skin all the time, the window was permanently blocked without the possibility of airing the room. The worse accommodation unit that I did not see in my life, and I paid 75 euros per night
