Response from the property
Dear Guest, Thank you very much for taking the time to share your wonderful feedback following your recent stay at Continental Hotel Budapest. We are delighted to know that you enjoyed the outstanding service provided by our team, the quality and variety of our breakfast, the comfort of your room, and the high standard of housekeeping. Your kind recommendation is greatly appreciated and serves as wonderful motivation for all of us. We are also grateful for your candid comments regarding the smell of frying bacon in the restaurant and its surrounding area. While our live egg station is one of the most appreciated features of our breakfast, allowing our chefs to prepare fresh egg dishes to each guest's preference, it unfortunately also has the drawback that the aroma of freshly cooked eggs and bacon can occasionally be noticeable nearby. We will certainly consider possible ways to reduce this effect, even if it may not be possible to eliminate it entirely. Thank you once again for your valuable feedback. We look forward to welcoming you back to Continental Hotel Budapest for another enjoyable stay. Best regards, Péter Vezekényi General Manager

For dining, start at the hotel's own ARAZ Restaurant, which serves local and French cuisine, plus a bar, cafe, lobby bar, and snack bar for lighter bites. Nearby, the Jewish Quarter around Dohany Street is filled with restaurants and cafes, and the Great Synagogue is just a short walk away. You can also explore the area near Blaha Lujza Square for more casual options. For a broader taste of Budapest, consider a food tour that includes market and tavern visits with tastings and wines.
The hotel sits on Dohány Street in the historic Jewish Quarter, close to the Great Synagogue and Blaha Lujza Square. You are a 13-minute walk from St. Stephen's Basilica and 22 minutes from the Széchenyi Chain Bridge, with the Gellért Hill Cave and Shoes on the Danube Bank also within a 23-minute stroll. The area is lively with restaurants, cafés, and nightlife venues nearby. The hotel's own restaurant, Araz, and its bar, café, lobby bar, and snack bar offer convenient on-site options. Westend Shopping Center is also reachable for additional shopping and dining.
From Budapest Ferenc Liszt International Airport, the hotel is about a 40-minute drive. You can take a taxi or arrange a private shuttle through the hotel. By public transport, take the M2 metro from the airport to Blaha Lujza Square Metro Station, which is a short walk from the hotel. The hotel is also near Rakoczi ter Metro Station. If arriving by train, use the metro to reach Blaha Lujza Square, then walk to Dohany utca 42-44. The hotel is on the left side of the street.
In the evening, you can start at the hotel's own bar, lobby bar, or snack bar for a relaxed drink, and the on-site restaurant offers dining with live entertainment. The surrounding Jewish Quarter is known for its ruin bars and nightlife, just streets away from the Great Synagogue. For a different evening experience, consider the Budapest Danube River Sightseeing Night Cruise with Drink, which showcases the city's illuminated landmarks. You can also join the Unlimited Prosseccoo, Beer, Aperol & Limoncello Spritz Cruise for a lively river outing. These tours typically depart from central locations, and the hotel's position near Blaha Lujza Square Metro Station makes it easy to reach them.
