Nice hotel we enjoyed our stay. The room was spacious and modern enough. Bathroom was clean and had good amenities. Reception staff were very friendly and accommodating. They were responsive to issues and super helpful. Few drawbacks - I don't understand why the hotel is called Budapest Palace, it is in the shadow of the awful communist block Marriot building which is quite oppressive. Absolutely no view of the palace or anything at all. Secondly, the breakfast is a straight up scam. It costs €16 but there is no way to even eat €10 worth of food with what they serve. You have to ask them to make eggs and they seem to ask some guests how many eggs and others they just decide how many you'll have. The rest of the spread is terrible. The milk I poured on my muesli was warm. The hot dishes they had out were cold. The toaster didn't work. The fruit consisted of orange slices, some very sad, old looking rockmelon and some apple bits. It was honestly the worst breakfast we've had at any hotel in Europe after 5 weeks of travelling. My disappointment is immeasurable.

Solid four-star hotel well located for all main sights and with good transport links and amenities nearby. About a 5-min walk to the Elizabeth Bridge and 15 mins to Parliament and less to the Basilica. Room 307 was internal facing so quieter and of good size and modern decor. Excellent shower and bathroom. Service standards are high. Small downside was that the AC is one of those that, once the temp hits say 22 degrees, will turn off. And come back on again a few minutes later when the temp rises. Annoying. You also get a lot of corridor noise as the room door is thin and not well sound-proofed.

Unfortunately, I had bad luck with my room — it was very small, which is fine for a solo traveller, but the photos made the rooms look much nicer. The view from the window was just a wall in the inner courtyard. The room was also right next to the housekeeping storage area, so it got loud from around 7 a.m., and sleeping in wasn’t really possible. The wellness area consisted only of a small sauna. I didn’t find it appealing, so I didn’t use it. The breakfast wasn’t to my taste; more fresh fruit would have been nice. But objectively speaking, it’s a good hotel breakfast. Overall, the hotel is fine. However, I’ve stayed in significantly better hotels with only three stars. I don’t think it really lives up to its four-star rating.

Great location and excellent service from Alfonso on reception. We visited all of his recommendations during our stay. The room had everything we needed, I have only marked down by one star as it was very hot and we couldn't get the thermostat to work so opened windows instead. Also no milk for the tea in the room but this was provided when I requested it. Breakfast was very good with eggs cooked to order if requested. Would definitely stay again.

My friends and I just returned from a marvellous stay at this hotel. Roland on reception was very helpful and had great English. He gave great directions and advice and the reception area was a light and gorgeous place to hang out. The hotel was very well placed and in the centre of things on the Pest side of the Danube, very close to the Chain Bridge so you could walk over to Buda very quickly. The river trips are also only a 5 minute walk away. The breakfast was wonderful, where you could order your eggs, mushrooms, bacon etc freshly cooked or other delicious items from the heated buffet which was fantastic for gluten free and dairy free and suited me well (with gluten free bread on request). They also had the usual cold buffet, which looked nice. The chef was very helpful and nice. The rooms were quiet, spotless, freshly refurbished and stylish with very comfortable beds, huge windows, an enormous shower/gorgeous sink with room for your toiletries and radiator to hang/dry your towel. Toothbrushes/paste, shower cap, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, moisturiser provided. All in all the building had an elegant feel about it. There was a little bit of work going on but it didn't really bother me. A little noise early in morning from the bin van if you have your window open but you can just close them and use the aircon for peace and quiet.
