Gorgeous setting. Rooms are spacious, modern, and well equipped. Staff service could be better but was good enough. Its an awesome spot. Really enjoyed it. We had drinks on the patio overlooking the pool and had a nice dinner at the restaurant. The walks on the property were nice to do. There is a really nice viewing point over looking water, stunning at sunset.

We absolutely loved our stay. The hotel is stunning, with such a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. It feels like you’re in the middle of the rainforest, disconnected from everything, but it is still just a short walk to the beach and just minutes from Byron town. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable, and the pool is the perfect place to chill. A special thank you to Diego for his amazing hospitality and all his help with our booking, Hugh for making us feel so welcome at check-in, and Catalina for her lovely service at breakfast in the morning. They all made our stay even more pleasant. Thanks, Esteban

After reading glowing reviews and articles describing Crystalbrook Byron as a luxury rainforest retreat, I expected to leave feeling relaxed, refreshed and restored. Instead, I left feeling significantly worse than when I arrived, so drained that I skipped activities I had been looking forward to. What disappointed me most was the gap between expectation and reality. A musty room with mould concerns, a shower that occasionally switched itself on, disrupted sleep and a room move were not what I expected. A few maintenance issues might not bother me in a 3-star property. At this level, however, guests are paying for attention to detail, proactive maintenance and an experience that feels genuinely cared for. Those standards were simply not met. To his credit, Hugh, the Front Office Manager, took the time to listen to my concerns. However, listening and delivering are not always the same thing, and the overall experience never recovered. Crystalbrook Byron describes itself as offering "intuitive service" and "impeccable detail". Unfortunately, neither reflected my experience. For a property charging luxury 5-star prices, the experience never came close to justifying the cost. Technically there was a rainforest. The tranquillity proved much harder to locate. After the first night, I was already looking forward to getting back home. Home is cleaner, quieter, more restorative and available at a fraction of the cost.

Such great value for money! We had an amazing stay and couldn’t be happier with the experience. Everyone was so friendly, welcoming and accommodating from the moment we arrived. A special thank you to Hugh and Georgia, who were absolutely fantastic and went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. The rest of the staff were wonderful too and always happy to help. The hotel is a little bit out of town, but honestly it’s worth it for how beautiful and relaxing the place is. The atmosphere, service and overall experience more than made up for the extra distance. We loved our stay and would happily return. Highly recommend!

It’s great but the staff at the restaurant are overly confident in their product despite shortcoming ( like one tiny butter to go with 2 large pieces of bread for breakfast) half of the resort is closed of with banners awaitingReconstruction.

Disappointing stay that fell well short of the price point. My arrival was delayed due to a car rental issue, and I called five times between 9:20pm and 10pm to let reception know — no one answered. I eventually had to send an email asking for someone to call me back. When I finally checked in, the room smelt strongly of cigarette smoke, and the rooms themselves are very tired and in need of refurbishment. To make matters worse, the guests above me were stomping around until 1am, so it was hardly a restful night. In the morning, I walked into Forest restaurant looking for assistance. I smiled at a staff member who did nothing to help, it was only when a young waitress stepped in that I was able to place my breakfast order. At checkout, I raised the awful smell in the room. The staff member apologised — then in the same breath asked to charge $8 for mushrooms from breakfast to my card. After paying $380 to sleep in a smoky, run-down room with no answer at reception, a small gesture like waiving that charge would have gone a long way. Instead, it summed up the stay: - no attention to detail and no genuine care for the guest experience. I expected far more from Crystalbrook.

We booked a more premium room and it was 100% worth the money. Two critiques - the bed covers! The two sheet thing instead of a duvet cover needs to go, it's disgusting. The other critique is the shower, that wAs extremely old and the water pressure wasn't great, plus the line scale needed cleaning off. But the room was massive and the bed very comfy (apart from the two sheets) and it's a very quiet location. The gym is ok and the pool and walking is amazing.

As someone who has worked in luxury hotels and hospitality for over a decade, I can confidently say Crystalbrook Byron is exceptional. The entire experience from pre-arrival communications to our check-out and eventual departure was flawless. The resort facilities (even whilst undergoing refurbishment), the rooms, the food and the staff are all worthy of credit. We stayed for our anniversary with our 5YO and newborn in tow and loved that everything we needed could be found within the resort. We loved wandering the rainforest boardwalks, swimming in the pool, playing tennis, snacking on the verandah and enjoying the ever evolving treetops from our screened sunrooms within our family suite. The rooms are large, sectioned, clean, reasonably private and have ample space and kitchen facilities for a short stay. The staff kindly took our 5YO on a buggy ride to their onsite bee hives on check-out, and allowed full access the resort facilities pre and post check-out. I would highly recommend to everyone and anyone looking for a relaxing retreat. We can’t thank you enough for a wonderful weekend reset. My only note to those booking the family treetop suite is that ours was upstairs, so pram and roller luggage bag access proved challenging (though staff offered assistance).
