Response from the property
Thank you for your feedback, Letta. We are sorry to hear that your stay did not meet your expectations. While we appreciate that you requested a quiet room, it is important to note that "quiet" can be highly subjective and difficult for any hotel to guarantee. Your room was allocated facing the street, however a room overlooking the pool or BBQ area may not necessarily have been quieter, particularly when families are using the facilities, guests are socialising, or children are enjoying the pool. Noise levels can vary throughout the property and are often influenced by other guests and circumstances beyond our control. We would also like to clarify that all of our rooms are non-smoking. We do have a designated outdoor smoking area at the front of the property, which complies with local regulations. We are sorry if smoke from that area impacted your experience. For guests who are light sleepers, complimentary earplugs are provided as part of our room amenities. While we understand this may not suit everyone, it is one of several measures we offer to help guests enjoy a more comfortable stay. Thank you again for your comments. Guest feedback is always appreciated and helps us better understand different expectations and experiences.

Our team will be delighted to know their friendliness and warm welcome made such a positive impact. It is great to hear you enjoyed the fresh continental breakfast and found the location convenient for exploring Cairns on foot. We are also very happy that you loved your newly renovated bathroom — the upgrades have been a big project for us, so feedback like yours means a lot. We truly appreciate the recommendation and would be very happy to welcome you back anytime.

The Coral Tree Inn has its own Restaurant and Snack bar, so you can eat on site. For more options, the Night Markets are a short walk away and offer a food court with many casual choices. You will also find restaurants like Dundee’s Waterfront Dining, Tha Fish Seafood Restaurant, Ochre Restaurant and Catering, and Piato Cairns Restaurant nearby. The Cairns Aquarium, just a 3-minute walk from the hotel, is home to Dundee’s Restaurant @ Cairns Aquarium. For a quick bite, Café Strada and Prawn Star are also in the area.
Coral Tree Inn sits right in the heart of Cairns, just across from Munro Martin Parklands and a short walk from the Esplanade and Cairns Central Shopping Centre. The Cairns Aquarium is a 3-minute walk away, and the Cairns Museum is 7 minutes on foot. You are also within easy reach of the Night Markets and the Esplanade Lagoon, which is a 9-minute walk. The area is lively with dining options nearby, including Dundee’s Waterfront Dining and Ochre Restaurant and Catering. For a quieter escape, the Cairns Botanic Gardens are 3.3 km away, a short drive or bus ride.
From Cairns Airport, a taxi or ride-hailing service will get you to the hotel in about 5 to 10 minutes, as the airport is roughly 6 km away. If you prefer, you can book a shuttle or private transfer in advance. From Cairns Railway Station, the hotel is about 1 km away, an easy 10 to 15 minute walk or a short taxi ride. The station is also close to the city center, so you can walk through the main streets to reach Grafton Street. For a direct option, a pre-booked transfer or ride-hailing app works well from either arrival point.
In the evening, you can walk 9 minutes to the Cairns Esplanade Lagoon, a popular spot for a relaxed stroll by the water. The Night Markets are also nearby, offering a casual place to browse and pick up a bite. For a sit-down meal, the hotel's own Restaurant and Snack bar are convenient options. The Reef Hotel Casino, about a 1.1 km walk, has dining and entertainment, including the Tamarind Restaurant. If you're up for a short trip, the Cairns Performing Arts Centre is just a 210-meter walk away, where you might catch a show. For a livelier evening, the Esplanade area, about 850 meters from the hotel, has a range of bars and eateries to explore.
Coral Tree Inn is a great base for exploring Cairns. You can walk to the Cairns Aquarium in 3 minutes, the Cairns Museum in 7, and the Esplanade Lagoon in 9. The reef cruise departure points at Sunlover and Big Cat are a 13-minute walk away. For the Botanic Gardens, it's a 3.3 km trip, and Crystal Cascades and Skyrail are about 11 km out, so you'd want a car or tour for those. The hotel's central location makes it easy to start your day and return between adventures.
