Probably the nicest hotel experience I’ve had so far. The staff were very welcoming, attentive and helpful. During our stay we tried all the hotel outlets and were very pleased with everything from the service to the product. Unfortunately, I do not remember the name of all the staff we encountered but I hope they all know they were absolutely amazing. Though, I would like to give a special shout out to the gentleman at Urchin, who made our visit to the restaurant so much better than we expected. |The property offer amazing value for money. The cleanliness was outstanding and I couldn’t find something wrong even if i tried! The location was perfect, close to good attractions and a great place to be if you like the city! Thank you to all the staff at Hyatt Regency for making this experience so amazing! 10/10 would recommend to anyone visiting Cape town.

Didn’t felt like a 5 star property.Didn’t provided basic amenities like toiletries, had to ask for it.Swimming pool was not good.Lunch not serving at the restaurant.

The Hyatt Regency Cape Town delivers a very solid stay, though it comes with a couple of caveats depending on what you're looking for. On the plus side, the location is exceptionally central and convenient for getting around the city. The real standout, however, is the service—the staff across the board were warm, attentive, and genuinely amazing throughout our visit. That said, the property didn't quite deliver the level of luxury we were expecting from the brand. The overall feel leans more functional and corporate than upscale retreat. Overall, while it might not be our top pick for an extended luxury getaway, the fantastic hospitality and prime location make it a place we would definitely return to for a quick, efficient stay in Cape Town.

Our three-week stay at the Hyatt Regency Cape Town gave us a wonderful opportunity to experience the city from one of its most colorful and culturally distinctive neighborhoods. Located in the heart of Bo-Kaap, with its brightly painted historic homes and rich Cape Malay heritage, the hotel offers something more authentic than simply staying in a traditional tourist district. The location is excellent for walking, with some of Cape Town’s best restaurants, shopping, and attractions close by. And despite having heard the usual warnings about safety in South Africa, I personally never felt unsafe walking from the hotel to lunch, dinner, or shopping during our stay. As a Globalist, my status was graciously recognized with a very comfortable suite and a wonderful view of Table Mountain, which made the extended stay even more enjoyable. The hotel’s Urchin restaurant was outstanding, particularly in its combination of price, quality, and service. I would also highly recommend exploring the restaurants of the PAN Restaurant Group while in Cape Town. The gym was perfectly acceptable, and the steam and sauna facilities were a nice addition. What truly elevated our stay, however, was the staff. After three weeks, we had the opportunity to get to know many of them, and their warmth and professionalism made the hotel feel like home. The entire team consistently demonstrated an exceptional level of service excellence. I would especially like to recognize Chef Grace, the head pastry chef; Shalaya, the rooms manager; Felix; Akhonoa and Elfrada, our breakfast attendants; and Darlene at the front desk. Each of them contributed in their own way to making our lengthy stay memorable, and their kindness did not go unnoticed. The one disappointment was the Club Lounge. Its location tucked away near the pool makes it feel somewhat removed from the hotel, and the evening offering was quite limited—beer and wine accompanied by cold canapés, available for only about an hour each day. For a hotel of this caliber, I expected the Club Lounge to be a more substantial amenity. Overall, however, the Hyatt Regency Cape Town was an excellent base for experiencing the city. The Bo-Kaap location, spectacular Table Mountain views, outstanding staff, and easy access to some of Cape Town’s best dining made our three-week stay a memorable one. For travelers looking for a hotel that combines Hyatt-level service with a genuine sense of place, I would happily recommend it.

Phenomenal value for the price. Staff are all excellent and make sure you are well taken care of - always willing to give advice. Your steps away from a variety of diverse neighborhoods and can walk or take the shuttle to the V&A waterfront. It's very easy to Uber anywhere else in town that you need. Breakfast is nice with good options. Rooms are a bit dated but comfortable and spacious. Plus you'll hopefully won't be in them for long as you're out exploring the city. Room cleaning was timely and they do a great job. I've stayed here twice and this will likely be my default hotel for visiting Cape Town.

I have been a loyal guest at the Hyatt Regency Hotel for coffee for the past two years, visiting at least three times a week. During this time, the staff and management have seen me regularly, and I have always appreciated the welcoming environment.However, on my recent visit, I was approached by the manager along with a newly appointed protocol manager named Ian. They informed me that I could no longer sit in the mezzanine section or remain past certain hours because I was not a hotel guest. This was surprising and upsetting, as I have been frequenting the hotel for years without issue.What made the situation worse was the manner in which the message was delivered. It felt abrupt and unprofessional, leaving me embarrassed and disappointed. After such consistent patronage, I expected a more respectful and considerate approach.I truly hope the Hyatt Regency reconsiders how they communicate changes in policy to regular customers. Long-term guests deserve clarity and courtesy, not sudden restrictions that make them feel unwelcome

I stayed here for 5 nights with my toddler and wife. Service here is brilliant, I cannot fault it. Rooms would need an update and the TVs could be smart. Nonetheless there is a decent gym and lovely views of cape town. I'd like to thank Nadine, Razeen, Alfreda, Okuhle and Zolani for their great service. I can't remember all the names but my name was remembered and the attention to details was unmatched. I was helped every morning with staff who remembered our order. For the price point you cannot go wrong as you're right by bo kaap and the morning call to prayer is a pleasant way to start your day. I'd highly recommend the hotel for the value you get for the price. Thanks again!

Nice location in the CBD with great views of Table Mountain from the common area on each floor. Our room was pretty average but the team was exceptional, so this helped to push my rating a bit higher. They gave a 5-star experience and elevated what would’ve been about a 3-star room. Only misses were no conditioner in our suite (we had 2 bathrooms and neither had it), and room service seemed to take a very long time. Doormen were very helpful and the location of the hotel is walkable, although some directions are more walkable than others. For example Bo-Kaap is mere steps away and easy to walk. Some of the other streets are very busy and are more nerve-wracking to cross.
