The rooms are very nice and fresh (good and easy working airconditioning by remote-control). The personal is very friendly and will help where they can. But there is no Internet. They say wifi is not working and they don't know when it will be fixed. :( :( And... The operator signal is weak. TV works properly. Also a lot of sports-programs to see national and international games: soccer, cyclism, basketball, F-1. Lovely shower, that can be combined with a big bathtub.

We spent an evening here while transiting to Isla Macura. The hotel is quaint and centered in the walled old town of Cartegena, where everything is within walking distance. The staff is pleasant and helpful, and rooms include a good breakfast. Rooms are a bit small but comfortable.

This is my last day in Hotel Alfiz. I love this place it takes me back to a different time the architecture is beautiful full of arches and the colonial furniture is amazing. I feel transported. The staff was courteous, and helpful, and the manager Mr Rojas was great helping me navigate my first trip to Colombia.Thank You

Amazing! The staff was truly incredible. Sheik, the manager went above and beyond to answer all my questions. The hotel is very authentic and very much a rustic boutique hotel that feels very true to the city. Getting in and out was very easy; there was always someone at the reception 24/7. I would definitely recommend staying here rather than a fancier hotel if you’re looking for a more unique experience in Cartagena. Thank you Alfiz for making my Cartagena trip even better!

We loved our stay at Alfiz. Can’t recommend this place enough. We weren’t sure where to stay to avoid the nightlife noise in the city but the hotel was right off the busy streets but perfectly located. The hotel was clean, the staff incredibly accommodating (allowing us to checkin early since our room was unoccupied) and the free breakfast was lovely. We were sad to hear they plan to renovate the hotel to a more modern look, the historic charm of the hotel is what makes it so special. You feel a part of the local architecture versus modern fixtures in a historical city. We encourage the hotel to maintain its old Cartagena magic. Added bonus, access to two other sister hotels for the welcome drink or breakfast. We hope to return soon!

We had an absolutely amazing 10/10 stay at the Alfiz Hotel. This boutique property feels cozy and well cared for, making it the perfect home away from home. The location is unbeatable, right in the center of the walled city, with everything just steps away. The hotel and our room were immaculately clean, and we felt completely comfortable during our stay. The staff were exceptional, from the reception team to the breakfast chefs. Everyone was welcoming, attentive, and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Security was also excellent. The front door remains locked at all times and guests buzz in, which gave us great peace of mind and made us feel very safe. Overall, Alfiz Hotel exceeded our expectations in every way. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Cartagena.

The building and the rooms are certainly boutique-atmospheric. There's a tiny dip pool; the rooftop jacuzzi wasn't very inviting. A week before arrival, I was pleasantly surprised to receive a personal reminder-email from the manager of the hotel (he manages two others as well), and he immediatelly took care of my request for a room with two seperate beds. However, I shall not return to this hotel, for two reasons. The first is structural: there is no insulating door or partition between the room itself and the bathroom-toilette, only a too-short plastic curtain. The wooden door to the toilette doesn't reach the ceiling. Consequentially every noise made while brushing teeth or using the toilette is heard in the room. Most unpleasant. The second reason is of 'formal' definition. There is neither a minibar, nor kettle-condiments for preparing hot drinks. There's also no phone to speak with reception. These are - or should be - basics in a 4-stars hotel. On our first morning, out of the blue, we were offered the option of moving to one of the other two sister hotels. The offer was rescinded 15 minutes later, before we had the opportunity to check it. Guests are allowed to have their brkfst at one of the sister hotels, each - a few moments away. We tried all three; the best - at Casona Porvenir.

The hotel is very centrally located and the bed was very comfy but sadly that’s the positives. When we checked in we weren’t given any information about the breakfast/ swimming pool options at the sister hotels. Toilet seat was on the floor when we arrived, lights didn’t work, TV didn’t work, the bedroom was upstairs and the bathroom downstairs, not ideal when you get up in the night for the toilet! After the maid service one day we only had one large towel, no small towels and no bath mat - we had to ask 3 times for any attention to be given to this. Breakfast was poor - asked for soft fried eggs - always massively overcooked and we could hear breakfast being set up at 6.00 am Not a hotel I would recommend
