We stayed in penthouse suite to celebrate my birthday which was fantastic. Loved views, the beach and pool areas. We also Did a fantastic ceviche cooking class. I would definitely come back again.

Walking through the narrow streets feels such a magical experience, especially in the evening. The local people are extraordinarily welcoming, and the vibrant music fills the air everywhere. It is truly a unique destination that offers a fantastic mix of history, culture, and impressive tropical scenery.|During your visit, you will explore ancient fortresses like San Felipe Castle, where you will enjoy breathtaking views of the ocean. Visitors are going to love walking through Getsemaní to see its famous street art. You will also be able to try delicious traditional dishes such as fresh seafood and fried plantains at local restaurants. Don't miss taking a boat tour to the nearby Rosario Islands, where you will discover crystal-clear waters and peaceful beaches.|I visited Cartagena last year with my family, and it was an unforgettable trip. While we were walking near the clock tower at sunset, a group of dancers started a live traditional performance in the square. I really enjoyed the energy of the city because everything felt full of life. Cartagena is special to me because it helped me connect with rich culture and history. I strongly recommend visiting this vibrant place

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this incredible resort, and the experience exceeded every expectation. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the resort’s stunning location, which offered beautiful views, convenient access to local attractions, and a peaceful atmosphere that made it easy to relax and unwind. The facilities and amenities were exceptional. The property is beautifully maintained, with immaculate grounds, luxurious accommodations, outstanding dining options, and plenty of activities for guests of all ages. Whether enjoying the pool, spa, fitness center, beach access, or other recreational offerings, there was always something enjoyable to do. Every detail seemed thoughtfully designed to provide comfort and convenience. What truly set this resort apart, however, was the staff. Every team member we encountered was warm, welcoming, professional, and genuinely dedicated to making our stay memorable. Their attention to detail, willingness to assist, and friendly attitudes created a level of hospitality that is increasingly rare to find. They consistently went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of our visit was perfect. The Sofitel Baru is a beautiful hotel! The rooms were gorgeous and the views overlooking the water were breathtaking. We thought the food was overall very good. We enjoyed the atmosphere of the food truck on the beach, but thought the food was overpriced compared to other lunch options. We made reservations for dinner before arriving, which the hotel recommended we do. We would suggest going to breakfast on the early side — we showed up at 9am on a Saturday and it was packed. It took a few minutes to find a plate, but the food didn’t disappoint. We spent one morning on the beach, which was gorgeous. Despite it being a private beach, there were still people walking back and forth trying to sell us bracelets, offer massages, and ask if we wanted to jet ski. It was not constant, but it was definitely present. We worked with the concierge to arrange car transportation to and from the hotel. It was fairly easy and worked out well. The last 20 minutes or so is on a dirt path so the ride is bumpy. The hotel alerted us to this ahead of time, so we weren’t surprised. Overall, the staff is very friendly and it was a relaxing visit. We would recommend the Sofitel Baru and hope to be able to stay again!

Our stay at Sofitel Barú was truly unforgettable from beginning to end. The property itself is absolutely stunning, peaceful, luxurious, beautifully designed, and the perfect island escape after spending time in Cartagena. The room felt like a dream, especially enjoying sunset from the jacuzzi overlooking the property. Every detail felt thoughtful and elevated. What truly made the experience special though was the hospitality. The staff went above and beyond for us in every way imaginable. We had an unexpectedly stressful morning heading over after transportation issues caused us to run late for the boat, and the team handled everything with such patience, kindness, and grace. They genuinely made us feel cared for every step of the way. The spa experience was incredible and one of the highlights of our trip. The food was also amazing (still thinking about the tacos), and even the small touches throughout the stay made such an impression. You can truly feel that this resort prioritizes guest experience and overall happiness above all else. I travel often and can confidently say the warmth, attentiveness, and level of care here stood out in such a meaningful way. We left incredibly grateful for the experience and already looking forward to coming back. Thank you again to the entire Sofitel Barú team for such a beautiful stay 🤍

Our stay was fantastic. The views of the resort, pools, and beach were absolutely beautiful. The beach was pristine, the pools were clean and well maintained, and the staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, and always willing to help. The resort is in a more remote location, which we actually found to be one of its biggest attractions. It offered a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere away from the crowds. The restaurants were outstanding, and every meal we had was delicious. If I had one minor criticism, it would be the pricing. While everything was excellent, the food and beverage prices were a bit on the high side.

From the moment I arrived, I felt that all my needs were attended too. Very professional Staff, they were always smiling and eager to assist me in any way. The location was beautiful, very isolated, peaceful and relaxing. Room was very clean, cared for meticulously. All the little details were taken care of. Large room, great view of the ocean and beach area. Restaurant / Bar Staff were exceptional, and knowledgeable. They remembered my name, offered great recommendations and knew what I liked. Very creative menu's, I loved the desserts and aperitives / drink options (designed to please). The beach was amazing! The Staff who managed that area were professional and attended all my needs. Pools and lounge chairs maintained to a high degree, with plenty of options and availability at all locations. I liked how the pavers "locked together" matched the property's logo.
