I have been a regular at events hosted by the beautiful 137 Pillars boutique hotel for the past five years. Now thanks to the new General Manager, Arnaud, there is a monthly jazz event called 137 Trading Club! So, if you live in this amazing city or are just passing through, don't miss this evening of music, dancing, free flow wine and cocktails and fabulous food. And when I say "fabulous food" I mean it! The food is sublime. . . and credit goes to the new chef, Chat. He's a delightful man and doesn't hide away in the kitchen. Instead, he adds to the dining experience by being fully present the entire evening, interacting with the guests. Chat told me he loves to cook and that love is clearly evident in the delicious food that comes out of his kitchen!

It’s really terrible experience for this travel. I would never recommend you to come here.When I call for room service to send something to my room,the room staff only knocks door twice and just entered my room.This is completely incomprehensible. No one can accept it. The design of their room type is very problematic. As soon as you open the door, you can see the bedroom. So it led to a serious leakage of my privacy. Even so, they could still come up with a bunch of excuses, even though everyone knew that the original room staff just didn't understand the rules and showed no respect.There are so many excuses for their room staff. And for a traveler who spends 100 thousands dollars a year on travel hotels, the excuses they come up with afterwards are really ridiculous. Which hotel did you learn from. And in the subsequent conversation, it was clearly stated that it was their fault, but they would never offer a refund or compensation. They were only willing to make lunch free or provide settlement to get by perfunctorily. Sorry, no one needed it. Because of this matter, the originally busy plan was disrupted. It seems that they don't understand the meaning of the word "compensation". When such a thing happened, I asked their room manager, "You don't compensate even if you make a mistake, do you?" The answer was "yes". How ridiculous! This is not a matter of a few hundred dollars; it's a question of whether a business or a hotel should be shameless when doing things. The answer is obvious. And they even count the time taken to solve the problem as a late check-out, seemingly forcing others to agree, after all, they refuse to refund.

This is a beautiful heritage property. The rooms are well appointed and very comfortable. The grounds and the pool are well maintained. Spa is exceptional. breakfast was very good. What sets this place apart is the service team. Ray was very helpful with restaurant recommendations and shopping guides. He made reservations for us and was very helpful. Albeit a slight hiccup with the dinner, everything else was pleasant and our stay was quite restful. Do visit.

This hotel is sublime. The attention to detail is exceptional, and there are too many special little touches to mention... & it's more fun to discover them for yourself. The breakfast is delicious, and beautifully presented. Gorgeous rooms, grounds and facilities - it's hard to leave each day to go and explore. There is a dedicated staff member to help you with anything you need and the service overall is fantastic. I can't fault this hotel & would wholeheartedly urge anyone travelling to Chiang Mai to experience this beautiful piece of history.

I stayed at 137 Pillars House in August 2026. All of the staff were very friendly, and I was especially impressed by how sincere and genuine they were in the way they treated guests. Rather than the formal style of service you sometimes find at luxury hotels, the hospitality here felt warm and personal. The hotel has a calm atmosphere that reflects its history and tradition. The rooms are not designed like those in a brand-new modern hotel, but I never felt that they were old or poorly maintained. Instead, they had a sense of character and history that added to the experience. The gardens, pool, and overall surroundings were also peaceful and relaxing. As for the food, I would not say that the taste itself was particularly outstanding, but the service and hospitality were excellent, and we were able to enjoy our meals in a very pleasant atmosphere. This is quite different from a large, modern luxury hotel. I think it is especially suitable for travelers who appreciate history, a peaceful atmosphere, and warm, genuine service. If you are planning a trip to Chiang Mai and are looking for a quiet and refined place to stay, I would definitely recommend 137 Pillars House.

We stayed at 137 Pillars House for five nights and six days.|I have stayed at many hotels over the years, but for me, 137 Pillars House is truly one of a kind.|[The Best Hospitality]|Tuck, who took care of us throughout our stay, was truly wonderful. Her thoughtful attention, genuine kindness, and prompt responses to every request made our stay incredibly comfortable.|Every member of the staff welcomed us with warm smiles and treated us with genuine, natural kindness. Their sense of balance was absolutely perfect—never too close, yet never too distant. Each person cared for us so naturally that it felt as if we had found another home in Chiang Mai. We felt completely relaxed and truly cared for throughout our stay.|[The Best Room and Gardens]|Our room was peaceful and beautifully designed, and the spacious balcony was the perfect place to relax.|The surroundings felt like a quiet forest. Every morning we woke up to the sound of birds singing, and we enjoyed watching squirrels wandering through the gardens.|At night, the atmosphere became magical and completely different from the daytime, which was another unforgettable part of the experience.|The trees and gardens were maintained with incredible care, and there was not a single piece of litter anywhere. Our stay at 137 Pillars House Chiang Mai was genuinely exceptional and one of the most special hotel experiences we have ever had. The hotel itself is absolutely stunning. The history, the original house, the architecture and the way everything has been so beautifully preserved make it feel completely unique. There are plenty of beautiful luxury hotels in the world, but 137 Pillars has something that is much harder to find. It has real character, warmth and soul. What really makes this hotel, though, is the people. Our butler, Tuck, was amazing. From the moment we arrived, she looked after us so well and made everything feel effortless. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and she was always there when we needed her without ever being intrusive. That kind of service can completely change a hotel stay, and Tuck made ours incredibly special. The reception staff were also wonderful. Every time we walked through the hotel, we were greeted with such warmth and genuine friendliness. In fact, every member of staff we met was kind, attentive and lovely to deal with. The service never felt formal or forced. It just felt natural and genuine, which is one of the things we loved most. Breakfast was amazing and something we looked forward to every morning. The food, the choice, the setting and, of course, the service were all fantastic. One of the the best hotel breakfast I have experienced I also had a massage in the spa which was unbelievable — genuinely one of the best massages I have ever had. The spa experience was wonderful from start to finish and is an absolute must if you are staying at the hotel. As a travel advisor, I am very fortunate to stay in and visit many wonderful hotels, and I can honestly say that 137 Pillars House is one of the best I have ever experienced. It isn’t just beautiful, although it really is breathtaking. It is the combination of the history, the atmosphere and, most importantly, the wonderful people who work there that makes it so special. We were genuinely sad to leave. 137 Pillars House is one of those rare hotels that stays with you long after you have checked out, and we cannot wait to return. Thank you to Tuck and the entire team for making our stay so wonderful. It was truly unforgettable.

One of the best design resorts I’ve ever stayed in. Well functioned, spacious room (Borneo Suite). Love its outdoor shower and living terrace. A few improvement such as better professional staff, consistent shower equipment checked, and more delicious breakfast, will make this resort perfect.
