Overall, my stay was okay, and I felt the hotel offered good value for money. The location was convenient, and the accommodations met my basic needs. A solid choice for travelers looking for an affordable stay in a great location.

We had an absolute blast staying at Hotel Saint Clair during our recent family trip to Chicago! The location right off the Magnificent Mile was unbeatable, putting us steps away from all the sights and shopping we wanted to see. From the second we arrived, the staff were so friendly, helpful, and welcoming, making check-in a complete breeze. Our room was spotless, clean, and felt so safe throughout our whole stay. For the price, the value here is top notch, offering great comfort right in the heart of downtown. It truly made our family holiday extremely perfect in every single way. We will definitly choose this place again on our next visit to the Windy City!

Hotel was agreeable. All staff was nice. I don't like sinks where you can't bend down and get water in your mouth for brushing your teeth. Also it would be nice to have a smart tv with smart options available for guest. Because I could have enjoyed my personalized entertainment, I could have screen mirror from my phone. That would have been nice, otherwise everything was agreeable. Avoid getting pizza from lobby at all cost. Complete waste of $25.00

My friend and I stayed here while in town for a concert. Its an older building, but I live in a century town outside Cleveland so I am used to that sort of thing. The location was amazing. We were able to walk to great restaurants and short Uber rides away from Navy Pier and Northerly Island. The staff was friendly, check in was quick and easy. Our room wasnt huge, but surprisingly spacious with 2 comfortable beds. We did have a few stained linens though. The biggest issue was the elevator situation. They are small (capacity of 5) and there are only 2. You can wait awhile during peak hours. We checked in later so got right on, but had a bit of a wait during checkout. Not the most convenient, but we were aware ahead of time. Leaving a little earlier would have solved that. All in all, great price for the location.

Great hotel, good value for this desirable area. Rooms are small for double beds but cozy and worked well for us (me and my sister). Bathroom sink was tiny but clean and modern, with extra shelf below to accommodate lack of counter space. Super easy to travel with my dog along, and he loved the treats at the front desk! Wonderful location! Starbucks and 2 donut shops on the corner of the next block, how convenient for a morning walk! Excellent Italian restaurant downstairs. And Michigan Ave, the Magnificent Mile, is at the end of block. The elevator was a little slow, but we were happy to be at the Hotel St. Clair.

I spent one night while visiting a patient at Northwestern Hospital. The hotel is only one block from the hospital’s Galter/Feinberg complex, and as a single woman it felt very safe walking the area (of course the long summer daylight hours helped).|The hotel staff were super nice, stored my bag all day. Check in was friendly, easy and quick, elevators worked well (and safe — you need a room key to go up).|My room was well appointed, very clean, big enough for what I needed (vintage building, remember), a comfortable king bed, quiet (I was not street-side). The a/c worked well.|The best part — a FANTASTIC walk-in shower!! Great shower head, and although I was on the 8th floor, there was plenty of water pressure and hot water! The rest of the bathroom was small but adequate, and seemed newly renovated.|The highly-rated Nora restaurant is conveniently accessible via the lobby.|Although I wasn’t here for shopping this time, Michigan Ave really is just down the block but seemed a world away. I would definitely book here again!

Stayed here last week during a few day trip to Chicago. Really enjoyed the stay. The staff was friendly and fantastic. The location could not be any better if you want to he right in the middle of everything. The hotel and rooms are rather small however for me I only was in the room to sleep. I was there to see everything the city has to offer. I would absolutely stay here again!

I had an absolutely horrible experience at Hotel St. Clair and would not stay here again. Check-in was around 4 PM, and I arrived around 5 PM after a long drive. Parking is valet-only at $65 per night with no in-and-out privileges. While the price itself is understandable for Chicago, the overall experience was extremely disappointing. The hotel has only two very small elevators for a 10+ story building. They are supposedly able to fit about five people, but realistically only 2–3 people fit comfortably, so getting to and from your room can take a very long time. The biggest issue, however, was the serious safety and security problem with our room keys!!!! We booked a room with two queen beds. When we first went up to the 8th floor, the door to the room we were assigned was slightly open. When I entered, the room appeared to be in an unfinished or disturbed state—the TV was missing and there were only cables where it should have been. It also looked as though the room may have already been used or possibly entered by someone else. I immediately went back downstairs and waited for the extremely slow elevator. The front desk then gave us a key to another room. When I went upstairs, the door was somewhat jammed, but eventually opened. An elderly man was already inside the room and was understandably frightened when I walked in!!!!! Someone had already been checked into that room, yet the hotel had given me a key that allowed me to enter it. This is completely unacceptable. A hotel giving a guest a working key to another guest's occupied room is a major safety and privacy issue. Even more concerning, I was able to get through the door's safety lock. I cannot imagine how frightening it would be to be staying in a hotel room and suddenly have a stranger able to unlock and enter your room. After this happened, my sibling and I no longer felt safe leaving our belongings in the room or sleeping comfortably, because we were worried that someone else could potentially be given access to our room as well. On top of the security issue, the room itself was disappointing. There was no iron or ironing board, and the air conditioning did not work well. Mistakes happen, but giving a guest access to an already occupied room is not a minor inconvenience it is a serious security failure. Unfortunately, this experience completely overshadowed the rest of our stay. I would not recommend Hotel St. Clair based on this experience.
