An absolute gem in Colombo. Maison de Colombo is one of those rare boutique hotels that immediately feels special. The hotel is built around a beautiful inner courtyard with a swimming pool, and the rooms are exceptionally spacious. The moment you step inside, the noise and intensity of Colombo seem to disappear. It genuinely feels like a little oasis of tranquility in the middle of a very busy city. What makes the place particularly unique, though, is Christophe, the owner. A former senior Michelin employee who came to Sri Lanka a few years ago, he has taken over the hotel and is gradually turning it into a little piece of France in Colombo. He is currently upgrading the restaurant with proper traditional French cooking — think cassoulet, tarte tatin and other French classics — accompanied by an excellent selection of wines and champagnes that are extremely difficult to find elsewhere in Sri Lanka. The service is outstanding. Everyone is incredibly responsive and genuinely helpful, whether it’s organizing a driver, arranging something at short notice or simply making sure you have everything you need. Christophe himself is extremely friendly, welcoming and always available, and the same attitude runs through the entire team. If you’re looking for the anonymity and facilities of a huge international five-star hotel, this probably isn’t what you’re after. But if you prefer character, space, personal service and a boutique atmosphere, Maison de Colombo is absolutely the place to stay. A little France hidden in the heart of Colombo — I would return without hesitation.

This little boutique hotel is owned by a French couple. They are absolutely warm hearted people and we enjoyed talking to them. Their French GM is a lovely lady who fulfills every wish. The rooms are very spacious and clean and we enjoyed the coffee from the Nespresso coffee maker in the room in the morning. During the night is was very quiet and we could sleep very well in the large cosy bed being ready for new sightseeing adventures on the next day. La Maison de Colombo is a place we would go back to on our next trip.

Excellent little French hideout in the middle of Colombo. Friendly owners and staff, delicious French breakfast, and a wonderfully designed room made the stay one of the best ones we've had in Sri Lanka.

A French paradise in the heart of Colombo We came for the Christmas holidays and were impressed by the beauty of the place. What's more, the Christmas decorations created by the manager, Ms. Beatrice, are original and magnificent. The manager, Christophe, gave us a warm welcome and showed us around the royal suite we had booked. The suite is fabulous, beautifully decorated, equipped with every comfort (Wi-Fi, minibar, air conditioning, etc.) and a jacuzzi! The bed was very comfortable, and we slept very well. Dinner at the restaurant was fabulous, with revisited French recipes. The wine is excellent and the waiters are lovely. I encourage you to swim in the very well-maintained and clean pool before breakfast. We had a wonderful time and will definitely be back as we loved the welcome, the service, the food, and the beauty and cleanliness of the place. A big thank you to Maison de France in Colombo for this unique experience!

The Perfect Stay|We finished our Sri Lanka trip at the most wonderful hotel. Christoph and his team here are unbelievable, food is to die for, service was absolutely fantastic.|Beds are amazing, huge lovely bathrooms.|Coffee you can drink.|Christoph is so friendly and knowledgeable of Colombo and shares any tips|The only way to describe this stay was they did the impossible |They took Colombo out of Colombo |Well done Christoph and team |Thank you so much

Lovely hotel with great food, wine and service. The grounds are very attractive and the host very helpful and generous. The maison is a fair distance from the centre of the city. Our stay was let down by our room which was next to the carpark, office and entrance. It was noisy, dark and had no ventilation other than an air conditioner. There were, however, other lovely rooms on the premises. Would stay again (in another room).

We had such a beautiful short evening at La maison de colombo. the moment we step in to wine bar we got wow The place is spectacular. A brilliant tribute to wine culture,and pleasure. the hotel staff are warm.The owner who has wide range of knowledge of regional wine culture and Culinary and cultural significance and Regional identity is a nice person. tasting experiences is great You can easily spend hours exploring something new. la maison de colombo is an absolute must-visit. Amaizing charming place and highly recommend it.

Tucked away from the hustle & bustle this a beautiful hotel with stunning pool and fabulous rooms. The owners have thought of everything and nothing is too much trouble.|The rooms are elegant and spacious.|We didn’t eat in the restaurant as it was our first night in the country but the menu looked good. Breakfast was very good.|I would highly recommend to anyone.
