What a wonderful hotel to stay at! We were taking a road trip through the south of Germany and this was one of the most charming places ever! Mr. and Mrs. Helmer personally helped us find parking and were gracious enough to give us a wonderful room after we had mistakenly booked the wrong night! Breakfast was delicious and nutritious and the staff was so kind and friendly. As far a location, it's close to all the attractions of Schwangau like the castles and lake, yet sits on a quiet part of town. Would love to stay here again one day, thank you!

I stayed two nights at Hotel Helmer, and the stay was excellent. The building itself and the rooms are very beautiful and spacious (with private balconies!), the staff were so friendly and helpful (one of the best parts), and the location was perfect for visiting Alpsee and Neuschwanstein since we could use the city bus for free via a waiver the hotel gave us. Overall 10/10, I would definitely come back. The ONLY downside, was there was no air conditioning or fans and the weather was 30 degrees. But a lot of hotels in Germany don't have AC, so this wasn't a huge turnoff.

Such a friendly and hospitable hotel. The staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. Our room, on the first floor, was spacious and comfortable. Very nice balcony too. Oodles of hot water and plenty of storage. Restaurant also wonderful. Tasty food, daily specials and plenty of regional fare to sample.|Added bonus was a card, giving us free local bus travel. Location ideal for exploring local area, where there is lots to see and do. Really lovely stay.

The Hotal has the family owned and operated charm and attention to detail that make is absolutely wonderful and unique. The view from our balcony of the mountains as village area is spectacular. The area has many great paved walking paths through the beautiful rural area to the cable car and castle area.

Our 2nd stay in this very nice hotel in beautiful surroundings. A good place for hiking in the mountains and use og free bikes (very good idea) to bike around Schwangau and Füssen. An El-kettel in the room would be a nice to have for a couple of tea after a long hike in the mountains.

Response from the property

Thank you for your great revue. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay in our hotel. We are looking forward to welcoming you again. Warm regards, your team of hotel Helmer
