The hotel's own Gusto restaurant serves creative seasonal cuisine, and the Mirror Bar offers food and drinks all day. For a rooftop experience, the MET Rooftop Lounge has tapas, mezzes, and Asian treats with lake views. Just five minutes away, La Brasserie du Parc des Eaux-Vives and the Terrasse du Parc des Eaux Vives offer French and Genevan dishes in an 18th-century mansion. The Old Town, a five-minute walk, is full of cafés and restaurants, including Restaurant Les Armures and Café Papon. You can also find food halls like Spoon in the city center.
The hotel sits right on the lakefront at Quai du Général-Guisan, with the Jet d'Eau just a 6-minute walk away. The Old Town is a 5-minute stroll, where you'll find the Cathédrale Saint-Pierre, Place du Bourg-de-Four, and Tavel House. The Flower Clock is only 1 minute away, and the Promenade de la Treille and Brunswick Monument are within 7 minutes. The area is central, close to the shopping district on Rue du Rhône, and the English Garden is nearby. It's a convenient spot for exploring the city's lakeside and historic sights on foot.
From Geneva Airport, take the train to Cornavin main station, about 7 minutes, then hop on bus or tram lines 6, 8, 9, or 25 to the Métropole stop right by the hotel. From Cornavin, those same lines get you there in a few minutes. A taxi or ride-hailing service is also a direct option from either point. The hotel is on Quai du Général-Guisan 34, along the lake.
In the evening, the hotel's own MET Rooftop Lounge and Mirror Bar are right there for a drink with a view over the lake and Jet d'Eau. A 5-minute walk brings you to the Old Town, where you can wander the streets around Place du Bourg-de-Four and Cathédrale Saint-Pierre. The lakeside promenade, with the Jet d'Eau and Brunswick Monument, is a pleasant stroll at night. For a relaxed evening, the nearby English Garden and Flower Clock are just a minute away. You can also join a sightseeing cruise on Lake Geneva with wine and aperitif, a popular evening option.
Hotel Metropole Geneve is an excellent base for exploring Geneva, with most key sights within a short walk. The Jet d'Eau is just 6 minutes away, while the Cathédrale Saint-Pierre and Place du Bourg-de-Four are each a 5-minute stroll. L'Horloge Fleurie is only 1 minute from the hotel, and the Old Town's Tavel House is 6 minutes away. For longer excursions, the city's popular tours to Chamonix, Zermatt, and Annecy depart from central points, and the hotel's lakeside location makes it easy to join a sightseeing cruise. The nearby bus and tram lines connect you to the wider city, including the United Nations area, for exploring beyond the center.
