Absolutely amazing experience, pools were well maintained and could see them from our room, kids loved it! Has a restaurant and bar that you can enjoy a beer/coffee/food and can watch the kids in the splash zone. We ordered wood fire pizzas and they were delicious & well priced. This resort has everything you need. The only negative is that we had to come back home after 3 nights 🤣 We will definitely be be back! booked through booking.com

A great place for family fun, especially with younger kids. The big water slide pool was under maintenance during our stay so we were restricted to a single slide pool which was still fun but got very busy at times. We weren't told of the shutdown of the bigger water slide pool. Some activities are charged separately to the hotel booking which added unexpected expense. The room was nice with facilities typically found in apartments. There was no room cleaning or restocking of toiletries etc. You could purchase additional stock at the main desk or buy elsewhere. It is a huge complex and despite maps and directions from staff, was difficult to find your way to facilities at the other end of the complex due to the maze of walkways and lack of signage. In our case, we did not locate the cafe or kids play ground and cinema which were apparently located at the other end of the complex. The gardens are nice and well maintained and staff were pleasant. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

Old Florida at its finest! Stayed here 20 years ago on our honeymoon and back recently to celebrate our anniversary. Family owned and operated which made it such a nice stay. Very accommodating with deliveries and love that it is dog friendly. We stayed in the Country Cottage which has an incredible view with a private porch plus and private patio/dock over the water. We spent our mornings and evenings with coffee and drinks overlooking the bay. Thankful places like this still exist in an area that has become so popular.

Pros:|*Apartments are inexpensive (however you do get what you pay for - please see below).|*Reservations team were amazing in helping us book our holiday. They were always prompt in responding to emails about our group booking and helpful with information about things to do whilst on the Gold Coast.|*The pool areas are nice as is The Deck restaurant and bar.|*The gardens are amazing and are extremely well maintained.|*This resort is really only suitable for families with young children.|*Tram and bus stops are out the front of the resort - easy access therefore to Pacific Fair and Surfers Paradise.|*Walking distance to the beach.|*Supermarket and chemist within walking distance.|*Resort does have its own shuttle bus (however it requires bookings and can be expensive if you are a group). It is much, much cheaper to use the public transport system if you can. Cons:|*The standard apartments are out dated and are in desperate need of repairs and refurbishing. I would definitely recommend paying extra for the superior apartment option.|*Bed linen is thin and there are no extra blankets in the rooms.|*This resort is not suitable for group bookings. We were a group booking of 22 (6 apartments) and despite being reassured on several occasions by the reservations staff that we would be placed together, upon check in we were advised by reception staff that all 6 of our apartments were spread across the whole resort and nowhere near each other. Would definitely not recommend staying here if you are a group booking and want to be together.|*Whilst there are several BBQ areas in the resort, they are not big enough for groups more than 8.|*This resort is definitely not suitable for older people or people with mobility issues. We were celebrating our parents 80th birthday and despite knowing this, my parents were initially placed in a 1 bedroom apartment on the third floor. There are no lifts so they needed to take 6 flights of stairs every time they needed to get to their room. Reception were able to move them to a ground floor apartment on our request however this apartments bathroom had a shower over a bath which my parents were unable to get into. Again we contacted reception who advised that ALL of the one bedroom apartments in the resort have this configuration and that to get a walk in shower my parents would need to pay extra for a two bedroom apartment despite not needing the extra bedroom.|*Reception staff, while friendly, seemed inexperienced and confused on the occasions that we dealt with them. Bookings for the resort bus that had been made months prior and paid for were not in the system. There is clearly no communication whatsoever between the reservations team and the reception staff.

Resort felt like a maze to start with, but fine once you got lay of the land. Would describe as unusual layout, how each set of 3-6(?) appartments have a separate stairwell (you cannot go across). This may have impacted the resorts ability to accommodate my request (made months in advance) to link two bookings that made up a family group and locate us together. This would have been really helpful if they could have done it, as the purpose of trip was to spend time with family. Pool facilities were pretty good. Multiple pool areas - unfortunately not a lot that suited my kids age/water confidence as pools were all either toddler pool or quite deep. We didn't really use the splash pad as kids didn't have the confidence to try most slides on their own, and sliding tandem was not permitted for safety reasons, even for first couple goes. Given this, there was only one slide the kids would go on and they got bored of that pretty quick. Interactive water shooters weren't working well and nothing else on offer at ground level. Other kids seemed to really enjoy it though. Splash pad and mini golf are nice touches, but while still functional are getting tired/showing their age. Didn't use much in way of other facilities - kids club etc. But did notice some nice touches eg beach toys and kids books available to borrow. I didn't notice much in terms of responsible waste management processes. Would have been nice to see more in place to make it easy for people to recycle, rather than just skip bins. Perhaps an area of improvement? Overall, a nice stay, in a perfectly nice family-friendly resort.

Whilst holidaying in the GC, we decided on staying at Turtle Beach resort, given it was out of the main Surfers Paradise area. The location was great with the light rail at your doorstep, along with Woolworths around the corner and of course the beach not far away. The room we stayed in was on level 2, which made it difficult hauling luggage up sets of stairs (albeit this was documented before going). The rooms were spacious and decent. They had everything we needed, albeit there was some food crumbs still in the couches and the rooms were a little dated. The facilities are good, with ample pools, a nice bar and deck and other facilities which we didn’t look into. The gym (which we wanted to use), is for 18+ only, no exceptions. Given my child (14) was supervised by me, to undertake his gym program as prescribed from his high-level sporting peers, I found it ridiculous that we were kicked out of the gym. This was the first time this had happened after staying at numerous places on the GC. I believe this policy needs to be revisited!! Other than this the check in/out experience was pleasant and all other experiences were pleasant. Some work to do based on the above points…

Ideal place for families with young children. Many pools with sprays, tube rides and a big water bucket. The Deck provides a breakfast and a lunch/dinner menus whilst keeping an eye on the kids. Woolworths is 100 metres up the road along with a bottle shop. For the more adventurous the tram stops right outside the entrance.

After days of deciding where to stay and being this was our first big holiday for our family I chose Turtle Beach. We had a family apartment and overall we were pretty happy with the experience we had during our stay. Having 3 kids under 9 it was definitely a good place to be. The only issues I had was there was no exhaust fan in the bathroom which also had the washer and dryer and when using the dryer it got extremely humid and muggy in the bathroom, the whole facility itself isn’t disability friendly for wheelchairs etc. Also the whole facility is quite big so a bit of walking is required which was fine (legs got a good work out lol). The positives - The Deck cafe has delicious food but tend to run out of things and went hours there at one stage where we couldn’t get any sort of milk drink hot or cold. The pool areas were good The room was good and loved the little balcony for a morning coffee. There is a kids club but must book the sessions A cinema (not sure what it was like as we didn’t end up going to it) Overall was a good first experience and would stay again but also will explore other places just for something different 🙂
