City Comfort Inn (Guangzhou Luyuan Road Taojin)

The best time is October to December, when temperatures are mild and rain is scarce, with as few as three to six rain days. The rainiest stretch runs April through August, peaking in June with 27 rain days, and summer is the hottest, reaching 33°C in July. Spring is wet and humid, so late autumn gives the most comfortable sightseeing weather.

For a first visit, Zhujiang New Town is the modern heart of the city, with the Canton Tower and Huacheng Square nearby. It suits those who want a polished stay with easy access to landmarks. Tianhe, around the East Railway Station, is a central business hub with great transit links, ideal for business travelers. Yuexiu, near the park and Chen Clan Ancestral Hall, feels more historic and local, good for culture-focused visitors. The Four Seasons and Holiday Inn are in Zhujiang New Town, and Fraser Suites is in Tianhe.

Start at Canton Tower Wharf for the skyline and Pearl River views. Climb 广州塔 itself for the city panorama. Chen Clan Ancestral Hall shows intricate Lingnan carvings and architecture. Yuexiu Park holds the Five Rams Statue and city history. Nearby, Temple of the Six Banyan Trees is an ancient Buddhist site.

Go to Shunde for its food heritage and cultural sites, like the Qinghui Garden and daoliang snacks, on a private tour. Or take the historical day tour that uses the metro and a boat to see Guangzhou's landmarks and waterways. Both are full-day trips from the city, so leave a morning free for one.

Plan 3 days for the main sights: the Canton Tower, Chen Clan Ancestral Hall, Yuexiu Park, and Temple of the Six Banyan Trees. Add a fourth day for a trip to Shunde for its food heritage, or a fifth if you also want Chimelong Safari Park. Two days feels rushed if you want to see the core highlights at a relaxed pace.
