Tripadvisor· a month agoBottle water without requesting it from housekeeping for tourists (or anyone) should be a layup for a top luxury hotel. Grounds are Banyan Tree worthy. Breakfast buffet huge and nice quality. front desk needs to have better english trained staff. Some communication errors between bikes, e-bikes and motorbikes and the tours they offer. Hotel is about 10 minutes outside of downtown. Wanted dinner reservation - they just said ok stop by, vs. coming at a specific time. Service there (in fancy restaurant) not attentive, food was ok. Room was nice. Blackout shades nice, a/c worked, tv, hairdryer, decent shower water pressure and hot water. 2 sinks. sitting area. fridge

Google· 3 weeks agoThe rooms and the design is ok. Worn out but kept a good standard. At check in i presented our All Accor Platinum membership and they had no idea what benefits we should be having until we found the manager. Service is not up-to standard. This resort is a tourist trap. A bottle of Sparkling for in room is 38RMB. Compared to Europe and other places it might not seem much but local spending it is on par with Hong Kong charges and this is in the middle of Rural countryside. The restaurants, so called lobster dinner package at 599, served as frozen tiny lobster. For gods sake, you’re a 5 star hotel, either don’t sell it if you need to use frozen goods. Local meals cost 100-200 for a meal for 2 outside. Ofcourse the restaurant was grand but the pricing is just a trap. Our last day we wanted to go the western restaurant and try the Ramen set at 120 a set. Waitress told me order something else as it takes 40 mins or so. I was like…how can you display this and says everything to push customer not order these. Both restaurants would not give you the set menu to choose unless you ask for. Why? Because a single item cost 200+ rmb. Truly disappointed with this group

Tripadvisor· a month agoThis hotel was not quite what I expecting. It’s very large and farther from Yangshuo (40 minutes or so) than I thought. I also thought it was in a rural area but it’s actually adjacent to a somewhat run-down neighborhood. That said, it’s a very nice place with great food and service. Our vila was very nice. They have two restaurants that are very good. The pool bar was closed but they had a lobby bar. It wasn’t a great option, though, because it’s not air conditioned and it was very hot and humid. Our biggest complaint is that we were bored. Our problem primarily stemmed from the fact that their list of activities (some free, some for a charge) is normally accessed via WeChat, a Chinese app. The app didn’t work for us, a common problem for foreigners. On our last day we got a partial list of their activities via email. We did a few things (pool, river raft ride) but we largely just killed time. It would have been extremely helpful if they had forwarded a list of activities in advance of our visit. Overall it’s a very nice resort but we didn’t enjoy our stay due to boredom.

Tripadvisor· 2 months agoNice hotel, well located on the shores of the river. Excellent western breakfast. Dining options for western food ok. |Unfortunately the premises need urgent refurbishment. The pool area is tiny. The pool bar was closed all the time. Language barriers are very big and the staff cannot respond to basic questions in English.

Tripadvisor· a month agoA beautiful resort in a stunning location on the Li River, surrounded by spectacular scenery. The resort is very peaceful, private and quiet, making it a perfect place to relax and enjoy the landscape. If possible, book a villa — the extra privacy and space make the experience even more special. Highly recommended for a relaxing stay in Yangshuo.

Tripadvisor· 3 months agoOur family had an absolutely incredible stay at Banyan Tree Yangshuo, and it was one of the highlights of our entire trip through China. Our group stayed in the Three-Bedroom River View Villa along with a nearby One-Bedroom Villa, and both accommodations were simply spectacular. The villas were spacious, luxurious, beautifully designed, impeccably clean, and offered breathtaking views of the surrounding karst mountains and river. They provided the perfect combination of privacy, comfort, and elegance for our family while allowing everyone to stay close together.|The location of the resort is second to none. Surrounded by the iconic limestone peaks and the tranquil Li River, Banyan Tree Yangshuo feels like a peaceful oasis while still being conveniently located for exploring Yangshuo and the surrounding countryside. Every morning felt like waking up inside a traditional Chinese landscape painting.|One of our children's favorite parts of the resort was the beautiful swimming pool, where they spent hours every day. They were also thrilled by the peacocks roaming freely throughout the property. Watching these magnificent birds wander through the lush gardens made the resort feel even more unique and magical, creating memories our family will never forget.|What truly made our stay exceptional was the personalized service. We were fortunate to have Wu Guang-e (吴光萼) as our dedicated host throughout our stay. From before we even arrived until the moment we departed, he took care of every detail with incredible professionalism and genuine warmth. Whether coordinating transportation, answering questions through his business WeChat, arranging activities, or accommodating special requests, he was always just a message away and responded almost immediately. Having a dedicated host made us feel like valued guests rather than simply hotel customers.|The entire Banyan Tree team consistently went above and beyond to make our family feel welcome. Every interaction was warm, sincere, and focused on creating a memorable experience. It's this level of personalized hospitality that truly sets Banyan Tree apart.|If you're planning a trip to Yangshuo, I recommend Banyan Tree without hesitation. Google· 2 months agoThe property is beautiful, and the rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable. The breakfast also deserves special mention: it is varied, plentiful, and of good quality. Unfortunately, however, the service does not meet the standards expected of a five-star international hotel belonging to a prestigious brand such as Banyan Tree. It is very difficult to understand how, in a property of this level, almost no member of staff is able to communicate in English. We experienced constant communication difficulties, even when placing a simple order at the restaurant. We always had to use a translation app on our phones, but even then, we were often unable to make ourselves properly understood. We also booked an excursion to the rice terraces through the hotel, and the experience was extremely complicated. It was very difficult to understand where we were supposed to go and how the tour was organized. We had to communicate using gestures and photographs because the guide could not understand even basic English. Overall, the property is pleasant, with spacious, clean rooms and a good breakfast, but our stay was significantly affected by the serious communication difficulties. From a five-star Banyan Tree hotel, we expected a much higher standard of service and better assistance for international guests.

Google· 6 months agoAmazing hotel. Much much better than its public profile might suggest and by far the best hotel in Yangshuo. A spa oasis sort of place, beautiful traditional style villas, wonderful service, lots to do for kids, lots of activities in general. Easy to hire bikes to explore nearby. Peacocks roaming everywhere. Great food. A wonderfully romantic place and also great for families. Tremendous value too. Highly recommended
