For a quieter riverside base, Yangshuo's West Street area suits travelers who want the Li River and countryside nearby, with the Yangshuo Yitian West Street Hotel as an option. Plan 3 to 4 days in Guilin. In 2 days, see Guilin Rongshanhu Scenic Area and take a Li River cruise to Yangshuo. Add a third day for the Longji Rice Terraces and minority villages, or for hiking the Yulong River and Yangshuo countryside. If you want to include both the terraces and a full Yangshuo day, allow 4 days. A day trip to Longji or Yangshuo needs an extra day beyond your city sightseeing.
