The hotel is located in one of the most central areas of Helsinki, close to everything. You can easily get around on foot, while bicycles and electric scooters are available just 50 metres away. Public transport is also very convenient. The room was excellent—spacious, modern and very well equipped. One minor drawback was the lack of slippers. The staff were exceptionally polite and helpful, both at reception and throughout the hotel. After I developed a skin allergy caused by the detergent used on the bed linen, they responded promptly, changed the sheets and replaced them with hypoallergenic ones. However, one of the hotel’s major shortcomings—perhaps its only serious one—is the breakfast. To put it mildly, it was unacceptable. It would have been more appropriate for a two- or three-star hotel, certainly not a five-star property. It was extremely disappointing. I would also have appreciated windows that could be tilted open, allowing the rooms to be properly ventilated. If the hotel significantly improved the quality and variety of its breakfast, I would have every reason to stay there again.

We stayed in a Grand Deluxe room and had requested a high-ceiling option - which we received. The ceiling height truly makes the room feel impressive and adds a sense of space. While the rooms are clearly not recently renovated, they are still in good overall condition. That said, details like yellowing grout could benefit from a refresh. The bed was exceptionally comfortable - genuinely one of the best we’ve experienced, even compared to much higher-end hotels. However, if your room faces the street, be prepared for noticeable noise from cars and trams - earplugs are highly recommended. The biggest drawback was the service. At check-in, we asked for a 30-minute late checkout and were told it wouldn’t be a problem; however, it was noticeable that the receptionist didn’t write it down anywhere. As expected, we received a call 15 minutes past noon asking if we were aware of the checkout time. The staff member was polite and allowed us to stay longer, but the situation felt unnecessary and avoidable - not what you expect from a hotel at this level. There were a few other service inconsistencies: we were initially given incorrect directions to our room and had to return to reception, and later, when asking about bath products, the staff seemed unsure of what was available until we prompted them to check further. Breakfast was very good with no complaints. Overall, this does not feel like a true 5-star experience. I would rate the hotel 4 stars, and the service closer to 3.

We stayed in the newer section of the hotel. Our room (826) was huge, and the bathroom was equally spacious. Despite the hotel being fully booked, our room was exceptionally quiet. The bed was comfortable, there was air conditioning, and plenty of electrical outlets were available. The front desk staff were extremely helpful. There were, however, a couple of shortcomings. The bar is open only four days a week, and the breakfast was below average compared with the outstanding breakfasts we enjoyed elsewhere in Scandinavia.

Pros: Good location. Friendly staffs. Room is clean with a lot of space. Good amenities. Cons: Breakfast is a bit disappointing. Selection of food is ok. scramble egg or boiled egg are included. But you have to pay extra if you like omelette or fresh squeeze fruit juice.

We had such a lovely experience at the bar at Hotel Haven! We received amazing hospitality from a tall, dark-featured gentleman whose name I unfortunately can’t remember. He was incredibly kind, friendly and attentive throughout our visit around 20.00-20.30 27.8.2026. I accidentally left my gifts at the bar, and he had kept them safe for me until I came back to collect them. I really appreciated his kindness and great service. Thank you for making our visit so memorable! 😊

Definitely not a 5 star hotel, 3 at most. Breakfast poor especially when they charge €8 for an omelette. Sometimes they would put a great deal of salt in the porridge which was disgusting. Minimal storage space for clothes. A small wardrobe with about 5 coat hangers and no drawers to put clothes. Had to use chairs to put clothes on. Room not cleaned properly for a week so had to mention it. Bath leaked underneath so had to mop it everytime. Dining area needs updating. Very small coffee cups so we went and bought some mugs. Enough coffee and milk for one cup so we bought some extra. Heating was non existence. We stayed for 12 nights and only got 2 small chocolates on the first day. Will never go back.

Loved our stay. Our room was comfortable, if a little dated. The Scottish barman was really friendly and welcoming. The highlight was the stunning breakfast served in the heritage building at the rear of the property.

The rooms are a reasonable size with comfortable beds. Our room has a bath tub & a shower in it. The breakfast brunch was very good with a wide variety of foods. The staff at the hotel was extremely nice. One morning due to jet lag we missed making it to the breakfast by a few minutes. The staff arranged for the kitchen to bring up delicious sandwiches, orange juice, smoothies & coffee. It was delicious & so very nice of them. The location is convenient to the sites, restaurant, boat cruise, etc.
