AHOY HOI AN BOUTIQUE RESORT & SPA

For the driest and most comfortable weather, visit from February to April, when rain days are few and temperatures stay between 25 and 30 degrees. The rain picks up sharply from September through December, with October and December seeing nearly daily showers. June and August are the hottest months, with highs reaching 34 to 35 degrees. If you go on the 14th day of any lunar month, you can see the town's monthly Lantern Festival, which fills the streets with lanterns on the river.

In Hoi An, the Old Town (around Minh An and Cam Pho) suits first-time visitors who want to be steps from Chua Cau and the lantern-lit streets; HOTEL ROYAL HOI AN and Almanity Hoi An are here. An Bang Beach is right for those who prefer sand and seafood, with Silk Sense nearby. Cam Chau offers a quieter, riverside feel and easy bike access to town; Anantara Hoi An sits there. Choose based on whether you want the historic core, the beach, or a more relaxed village atmosphere.

For most visitors, the top sights are My Son, an ancient Cham temple complex, and the Marble Mountains, a cluster of limestone hills with caves and pagodas. In town, Chua Cau, the iconic Japanese Covered Bridge, is the historic centerpiece, and the Fujian Assembly Hall showcases ornate Chinese architecture. For a break, An Bang Beach offers a relaxed stretch of sand, while the Bay Mau Coconut Forest Tour provides a boat ride through palm waterways.

Day trips from Hoi An include Hue, where the Imperial City and tombs along the Perfume River showcase Vietnam's royal past, and the Marble Mountains, with their caves and pagodas near Da Nang. The Bana Hills Golden Bridge offers mountain scenery and the iconic hand bridge, while My Son features ancient Cham temple ruins in a jungle setting. The Golden Bridge, Monkey Mountain, Dragon Bridge, and Marble Mountain tour covers Da Nang's landmarks.

Plan 3 to 4 days in Hoi An itself. Two days cover the old town highlights: Chùa Cầu, Fujian Assembly Hall, the Silk Village, and an evening at Hoi An Memories Land. Add a day for An Bang Beach and the Bay Mau coconut forest. A day trip to My Son or the Marble Mountains needs an extra day, so budget 4 to 5 days total if you want both.
