Let me start by saying that the Ilikai is the best hotel I’ve chosen for a vacation so far! We absolutely loved our stay, from the location to the wonderful staff. Marie went above and beyond to help us resolve a few issues, and Chester was always friendly, welcoming, and happy to help. Their kindness really made a difference in our experience. The location is perfect! It’s close enough to everything but far enough away from the crowds to enjoy a quieter, more relaxing stay. Many tour companies also offer pickup right from the hotel, which is super convenient. I had considered staying next door at Hilton Hawaiian Village, but I’m so glad we chose the Ilikai. The village is fun, especially if you have younger kids, but our son is 14 and really enjoyed the Ilikai and its more relaxed atmosphere. A few helpful tips for your stay: * If you want to spend a day enjoying Hilton Hawaiian Village, you can purchase a day pass for around $30, which gives you access to the pools and discounts at participating restaurants. * You can rent beach umbrellas regardless of which hotel you’re staying at, and the lagoon is open to everyone. * Goofy Cafe & Dine is amazing! Their kalua pig eggs Benedict are delicious. 😊 * Don’t miss Lappert’s Ice Cream at the village. It’s a must! * Ala Moana Center and Sam’s Club (great for souvenirs!) are only about a 10-minute walk away. * Waikiki Beach is about a 25-minute walk, but we stopped for coffee along the way, so it didn’t feel nearly as far. * Uber and Lyft are great options for getting around. You can schedule your airport pickup ahead of time, and drivers can track your flight, so they’re aware of delays. One thing to keep in mind: Hawaii is expensive! For the three of us, meals typically ran around $80–$100, so plan your budget accordingly?there’s a McDonald’s across the street and Aloha sushi that was pretty good). You can also buy groceries and cook in the room. Overall, the Ilikai gave us the perfect combination of convenience, a central location, and a quieter atmosphere. We made wonderful memories here, and we’ll definitely be back! If you ask for room 30-42 you can get this view. We had 2540. Mahalo! 🌺

This place was extraordinary. What a fun place to stay and the location was fantastic, easy to walk to get to the trolley or bus. We did not need a car to get to all the places we wanted to go. The room was Superior and clean. The staff was wonderful. Free bottle water, ice cream and a DVD rental. Nice perks. There were nice shops in the resort and a library, what a plus to read while relaxing at the pool. We had a full kitchen so we cooked all our meals. There was a Luau on Friday night. The sunset from the balcony was a site to see. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks to the staff for making our stay so wonderful.

Amazing hotel, totally exceeding expectations! The studio suite on the 25th floor afforded amazing ocean and lagoon views. The rooms are 500 sf with full kitchen and a massive deck. Onsite restaurants are great. As a platinum elite of the Marriott, I found Ilikai far superior in the quality of the rooms, services. Also the location at the west most part of the Waikiki beach, it’s a quite a bit less congested. Our new go to place in Waikīkī!

This facility was opened in 1964. It is an iconic oceanside sentinel in the western Waikiki area with an awesome history. Half of the facility overlooks the marina with stunning views of the ocean, and we were in unit 1804 which offered these views. Some of the facility shows age, but the price point completely reasonable. Our one bed one bath efficiency had full size refrigerator, stove, microwave and walk-in shower. The entire wall of the Lanai is glass with sliding doors, permitting the breathtaking sunset to spill in during the late afternoons. Each unit has a mini split to keep you cool, and the Lanai temperature is most tolerable in the mornings being shaded. There are several great restaurants within walking distance, including two inside of the facility and the Chart House one block over. Parking is available via valet, self park, or the more reasonable marina parking garage on the other side of the adjacent hotel.

This was my first time staying away from the hustle and bustle of the strip in Waikiki. I found that the location was great, because it offered a good walk to the strip and had local, uncrowded, beautiful beaches. The hotel itself is mature, built in the 60’s and so, it can look like it in some places. Nonetheless, the staff were always warm and welcoming. Make sure you get your 2 free waters daily and ice cream scoop as a way to recoup your resort fee. We didn’t try the restaurants on site but saw that the restaurant on the top floor seemed really popular. Lots of people dressed up were going up to dinner there. I can imagine the view is amazing. We’ll likely stay here again because it wasn’t super expensive but the real reason is because it’s away from the crowds down on the strip.

Our stay at Ilikai Suites was so wonderful! The apartment was exactly as described. We loved the space and it had everything we needed. The pools were lovely. Lots of great restaurants nearby. The view from our suite was so nice over the Marina. KBM were great to deal with and we appreciated all the email contact. Thanks so much!

This place is absolutely HORRIBLE! I may have had a better experience at Motel 6. Please read until the end as I saved the worst part for last. I am currently staying at this “hotel” if you want to call it that with my family. I have to start off by saying we travel the world and take many vacations a year. I also am not one to write a bad review unless it warrants one. I have to state this because I have never experienced such a cheap hotel in my entire life. For starters the elevator you have to take to enter the building when you have luggage when you arrive is down. Those things happen, and I understand and respect that. My issue is that they won’t let you use the escalator with luggage, so you get to lug your luggage up a flight or more of stairs. I pulled my shoulder doing this upon our arrival as we are on a 10 day vacation and the luggage was pretty heavy. Great way to start. Not only do you have to carry your luggage up, but the hotel is too cheap to have anyone help you with it BUT they are willing to pay security to make sure you don’t take the escalator with your luggage. So, that’s the start. Next they force you to use valet and charge you per night. Fine, that happens a lot. Forced valet is actually not my problem. However, beware we waited 30 minutes for our car! 30 minutes. If we had an excursion to get to we would have missed it! We are choosing to walk to our excursion in the morning just to make sure we get there on time as we can’t rely on valet. Also, once you arrive back to the “hotel” the line is backed up to the street light because valet is so slow, so you get to wait to even drop your car off because of the forced valet. My daughter had to go to the bathroom and couldn’t wait in the line that was so backed up, so she and I got out and walked to our room. My husband waited to drop the car off. He was back 20 minutes after us. The balconies are large and have nice views if you could sit on them. We can only sit on half of ours because the window a/c unit from above us drips nasty rust water onto our balcony that splatters on us. The BIGGEST kicker of this cheap place that nickel and dimes you, they will ONLY GIVE YOU ONE SET OF TOWELS TO BATHE WITH UNTIL SATURDAYS…THAT’S IT ONLY A SET OF TOWELS PER GUEST UNTIL SATURDAY! I have never heard of that in my life. To make things even better they will gladly provide you with a public washer and dryer…they will charge you $3.50 to wash AND another $3.50 to dry your towels. So go on vacation, get one towel and then do your own laundry that they charge you for. Stay here at your own risk, but know it is the absolute worst place I have ever stayed in my life!!! There’s is absolutely nothing luxurious about this place! **I guess I have to respond to their post with an edit. I DID NOT stay in a private condo. Even if I had it still doesn’t explain/justify all the other issues directly related to the hotel. I guess I can add more grievances. It’s extremely dirty. Their idea of “cleaning” is throwing some trash out and giving us our once a week…per person set of towels. Also, if you go to the convenient store in the lobby they will charge you for a paper bag. This place will squeak a nickel out of you at every turn! We did leave and had our Uber driver pick us up next door. It is a night and day difference in the level of service and the hotel itself. The level of service you get just across the street is 1,000 times better. But, I could tell that just by looking at the two hotels.

Very nicely located with views of the marina and ocean if you are overlooking the pool. Short walk to ok beach not the stellar beaches of Waikiki though. That requires a bit of a walk, not unreasonable especially if you are also looking for the better restaurants. U must check the condition of ac filter. Mine looked like it hadn't been cleaned in ages and was 100% clogged.. Once cleaned by maintenance ac worked quite well. Overall a nice place to stay. Timeshare room was a large studio. Clean too. Missed having a dishwasher. Laundry not in room. Will return.
