We had a lovely stay at Hotel Borobudur Jakarta while celebrating our daughter's birthday. A big thank you to the team for making the occasion extra special. Our daughter was so happy to find additional toys prepared in the room — such a thoughtful surprise! We stayed in the Garden Wing and were very impressed with how well-maintained the room was. It was clean, comfortable, and felt very cozy for our family stay. Special thanks to Iman from the Front Office for helping arrange our stay and making sure everything was prepared smoothly. We'd also like to thank the pool staff — Faisal, Ridwan, Doni, Amin, Ali, and Dede — who were all incredibly warm, friendly, and attentive. They always greeted us with a smile and made us feel very welcome. As always, the pool, playground, and beautiful gardens were highlights of our stay. It's hard to believe you're in the middle of Jakarta when you're surrounded by so much greenery. Thank you again to everyone at Hotel Borobudur Jakarta for making our daughter's birthday so memorable. We look forward to coming back soon! ❤️🎂🎉

A Very Disappointing Experience We were only in Jakarta for one day and were attending an event at the hotel, so we ordered some local souvenirs through Gojek to save time. Unfortunately, the hotel security staff refused to assist in receiving the delivery at the front area. As a result, we had to leave the event and walk quite a distance just to collect our order. Even then, accessing the items we had already ordered and paid for became unnecessarily difficult. Honestly, it is quite surprising that in 2026, a hotel still does not have a practical system to accommodate services such as Gojek or Grab, which have become an essential part of everyday life in Jakarta. We appreciate the hotel's old, classic, and vintage character. However, being vintage should be part of the hotel's charm and identity—it should not mean that the service also has to feel outdated. A hotel can preserve the beauty and character of the past while still providing modern, flexible, and guest-friendly service that meets today's needs. I sincerely hope the management will review this policy. A memorable hotel experience is not only about beautiful architecture and history, but also about convenience, hospitality, and understanding the needs of modern guests.

Its an old hotel, but it was clean. Just that room amenities are not topup even though i ask them to clean the room. Service is damn good. It will be nice if they upgraded to sophisticated furniture and other things. They got a nice grden, pool is spacious.

I stayed here for one weeks and had an amazing experience. The hotel has many events and located in a great central area. However, what stood out the most was the staff. From the moment I arrived, the front desk team was warm, polite, and efficient. A special thanks to Rose at the lobby who helped me arrange a local city tour and gave great chinese restaurant recommendations.

The Worst Hotel Experience Ever How did this place even get its stars? You pay 8.8 million for a “Garden Wing Suite” and what do you get? • First morning: I wake up covered in 17 bedbug bites. • Feeling filthy, I try to shower, first only to find the toilet spray broken, the water cut off, and when I turn the handle, I get sprayed in the face with toilet water. • In the shower, I’m greeted by a dead cockroach. Trying to stay calm (it’s Eid al-Fitr, after fasting), I move to another bathroom to shower. Guess what? That shower doesn’t work either and there’s another cockroach waiting dead in the bathroom. When I complain, they offer me two other rooms value at 1.4 million and 2 million each. No real apology, no proper solution. They send cleaning and maintenance after i myself request it. the next day, when we extend our stay to two other rooms we still have to pay full price. No discount, no compensation. the problems continue: • AC and Lamp that don’t work. • Dust in the bed and on the sheets. • A shower where water leaks from the ceiling onto your head. ( DON'T BOOK GARDEN WING SUITE ROOM'S) The moral of the story: this is the worst hotel management I’ve ever seen. Whoever runs this place is as incompetent as the manager. Even the cockroach couldn’t survive here. People only stay because it’s near the mosque and church. Honestly, spending 14 million here feels like donating to charity except charity would have been far more worthwhile. I will never come back after all these years being a loyal Client. positive things: Breakfast, bellcaptain team and the people who open the door at the entrance

Borobudur hotel is such an iconic place to stay. From the beautiful gardens (where you can actually escape the hustle and bustle of the streets of Jakarta) to the grand entrance and stately lobby area, this hotel really breathes an uncommon grandeur. The common areas of the hotel are excellent. You can easily spend your day relaxing in the gardens, just reading a book in relative silence. Or you can visit the amazing spa and gym. The breakfast is equally great. All of this in itself already makes your stay worth while. That being said, the rooms are in need of renovation: cracked wood veneer, paint flaking off the bathroom ceiling, uneven floors in the rooms (there seems to be some kind of rubble under the carpets) and loose wallpaper. If they don’t renovate soon, they really run the risk of becoming one of those ‘faded glory’ hotels, which would be a shame. The rooms are by no means bad, but they don’t quite match the quality of the common areas. All in all, we had a good stay at Borobudur. If we see updated rooms the next time we visit Jakarta, we’ll definitely book again.

Hotel Borobudur Jakarta is a great choice if you’re looking for a comfortable and spacious stay in the city. The hotel has a classic style, with large rooms that are clean and well-maintained. One of the highlights is the huge garden area, which makes the place feel peaceful despite being in a busy city. The facilities are excellent, especially the swimming pool and gym.The staff are friendly and professional, always ready to help. The location is also convenient, close to many attractions and central areas in Jakarta. Overall, it’s a solid hotel with good value, especially for travelers who prefer a quieter and more relaxed environment.

I was here for my sister's wedding day and this is a very unforgettable experience I ever had with a hotel. It's a long hallway to go through my room thats why it kinda sucks. But the hotel room itself is big, since I got the 3 rooms (looks like apartment). I really love the ambience on each room that has everything in it, equally. Love the bathub as well, though the shower wasn't my favorite. I can see the view from the balcony near the living room. The view is mesmerizing ofc, Id love to see it in the morning & midnight. Every corner of this hotel is beautiful and well-constructed. About breakfast? They literally had so many option, I want to eat everything. Personally I love the potatos & sausages 😋 I won't talk about the service because they're the best I've ever had. ✨️👍🏻 Theres so much memories I make in here, and I hope I can go there once again with the special persons in my life. 🫶🏻
