The hotel itself offers several dining options: The Grill Room steakhouse, SOLIMA for Italian cuisine, a Lobby Lounge with pastries, and the Oriental Bar for wines. For nearby places, you'll find Oak Restaurant, Deja Bu, Happy Fish, and Rooftop within a short walk. Hummus Ben Sira is a good choice for Middle Eastern fare, and Luciana Italian House is also close. These are all within easy walking distance from the hotel.
The King David sits on King David Street in the Yemin Moshe neighborhood, overlooking the old city walls. Tower of David is a 7-minute walk, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre 10 minutes, and the Western Wall 14 minutes. The Mahaneh Yehudah Market is 19 minutes on foot. The area feels historic, with Independence Park nearby and the light rail stopping close by for easy travel. It is a calm, central spot within reach of both old and modern Jerusalem.
From Ben Gurion Airport, take Route 1 toward Jerusalem and follow signs for the city center, then King David Street, about 40 km. From Jerusalem–Yitzhak Navon train station, 2.4 km away, take a taxi or ride-hailing for a quick trip. Bus stops are 150–246 m from the hotel with lines 8, 18, 34, 49, 71, 74, and 83. The light rail stops close by, which can connect you from the station area. A pre-booked transfer also works well from either point.
In the evening, the King David's own Oriental Bar offers Israeli wines and cocktails, and the Grill Room serves aged meats, both right at the hotel. For a change of scene, the Old City sights like the Tower of David and the Western Wall are a 7 to 14 minute walk away. The area around the hotel includes bars and restaurants like Deja Bu, Mirror Bar, and the Rooftop, all within a short walk. The Garden Tomb, a 16 minute walk, is also a peaceful spot to visit. You can also walk over to the lively Mahaneh Yehudah Market, 19 minutes away, which is good for an evening wander. The hotel's Lobby Lounge and Cafe provide more relaxed options as well.
Yes, the King David Hotel is an excellent base for exploring Jerusalem. You can walk to the Tower of David in 7 minutes, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in 10, and the Western Wall, Damascus Gate, and Dome of the Rock in 14 to 16 minutes. Mahaneh Yehudah Market is a 19-minute walk. For farther sights like Masada or the Dead Sea, the hotel is well placed for the day tours that depart from Jerusalem. The light rail stops close by, so you can easily reach other parts of the city as well.
