We stayed on a powered site for a few nights in May. The site is in a great location, easy to find, near shops, restaurants, fuel and is also great if you want to go on the whale tour nearby. It is a great base to explore Kaikoura. The site was very clean, the staff were friendly and welcoming. The facilities were great, very well maintained and clean. I’d recommend staying here when visiting Kaikoura.

Response from the property

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review Peter, and great it is five stars! We are pleased to hear you appreciated the facilities and location and hope you can visit again sometime. Kind regards, Kaikoura Top 10

We recently stayed at the Kaikoura Top 10 Holiday Park for two nights on a non-powered site, and it exceeded our expectations. The location is excellent — just a short distance from town and the Whale Watch Kaikoura departure point, making it the perfect base for exploring the area. The views are absolutely stunning, with the snow-capped mountains forming a breathtaking backdrop that you can truly appreciate from the campground. The facilities were first-class. The communal kitchen was spotlessly clean and well equipped with everything you could need — cookers, microwaves, toasters, plenty of hot water, and plenty of space around the dining tables. There were also great washing facilities, a convenient vending machine, and several handy power sockets for charging phones or power packs. We received a warm and friendly welcome from the young man at reception, which set the tone for our stay. The Wi-Fi worked well throughout the site, and the pitches were nicely spaced, offering a good balance of privacy and comfort. Overall, Kaikoura Top 10 is a top-notch place to stay — clean, peaceful, well managed, and ideally positioned. We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again next time we visit Kaikoura.

I’ve returned to this camp multiple times, it’s one of my favourites in New Zealand. The washing machines are great and take card payment. There’s a guest herb garden. The showers are hot, powerful and unlimited. There are hairdryers. And in good weather, you have beautiful views of the mountain! Beware, if the seas are rough you’ll hear (and feel the rumble of!) the crashing of the waves towards the rear of the campsite - but that was right up our alley, we slept like babies.

Facilities are super great! the laundry was very nice, kitchen, bathroom, and even the pool! The spots are very small and on top of each other, the park is kinda sad, no slide :( but does have a jump bubble. My biggest complaint though would be that it’s right next to a train station and helicopter pad so during the day you hear loud helicopters and at night we got woken up twice in the middle of the night from how loud the train was! But overall great location to walk to town! no views but quick walking distance to views!
