The hotel's own Rox Restaurant serves Italian fare, while The Café offers local and international dishes, and The Lounge has light meals and pastries. For nearby options, Roadhouse Cafe Boudha is a short walk away and serves Italian food and bar drinks. La Casita De Boudhanath, also close by, offers Mediterranean and European dishes with a view of the stupa. Utpala Cafe and Lavie Garden are within a half mile for Asian and healthy choices. Pho99 Boudha is another nearby spot for Vietnamese and Asian food.
The hotel sits in Boudha, a calm, spiritual neighborhood centered on the Buddha Stupa, just a 6-minute walk away. This UNESCO-listed site is the area's heart, with its white dome, prayer flags, and circling monks. Around the stupa, you'll find small shops, cafes, and eateries like Utpala Cafe, Roadhouse Cafe Boudha, and La Casita De Boudhanath. The neighborhood feels local and peaceful, a contrast to the busier Thamel area, which is about 4.3 km from the hotel. You're also near the airport, making it a convenient spot to start or end your Kathmandu stay.
From Tribhuvan International Airport, the hotel is about a 10 minute drive. On exiting the airport, turn right onto the ring road, then right again at Pashupatinath Temple towards Chabahil, and take another right at the Chabahil roundabout to Boudha. A taxi or pre-booked transfer will handle this route easily. The hotel is also near Thamel Bus Stop and Shahid Gate Bus Stop if you are coming by bus. From the main train station, a taxi or ride-hailing service is the simplest way to reach the hotel.
In the evening, the Boudhanath Stupa is a 6-minute walk away, where the area comes alive with locals and visitors circling the monument. The hotel's own Rox Bar, The Lounge, and The Terrace offer drinks and light meals if you prefer to stay close. Nearby, Roadhouse Cafe Boudha and La Casita De Boudhanath are within a short stroll for dinner with a view of the stupa. For a livelier scene, Thamel is about 4.3 km from the hotel, reachable by taxi or ride-hailing, with its many bars and eateries. You can also join the Kathmandu Food and Drink Walking Tour to explore local flavors in the evening.
Hyatt Regency Kathmandu is a great base for exploring the city, especially for the Boudhanath area. The Buddha Stupa is just a 6-minute walk away, making it easy to visit this iconic site on foot. For the main sights, you will need transport: Skywalk Tower Kathmandu is 4.1 km, Garden of Dreams 4.3 km, and Kathmandu Durbar Square 5.3 km away. These are a short drive or taxi ride from the hotel. The hotel's own restaurant, cafe, and bar are handy for meals before heading out. From here, you can comfortably reach the city's key landmarks.
