Park Hyatt is a great gem in the Gion district. Situated in a charming and picturesque area it was a wonderful stay for the last leg of our Japan visit. It is a bit farther from the main parts of Kyoto where restaurants were open later for dinner, but everything was a quick cab ride away. For lunch there are some great hidden restaurants to explore which were walkable from the hotel. There were also some great cultural sites within walking distance of the hotel. The hotel itself was fantastic, with very comfortable and modern rooms and great amenities. Also loved the great views as we made our way to and from our room, but what stands out the most is the impeccable and friendly service. Ending our Japan visit at the PH was perfect as it gave us the opportunity to unwind, and relax before heading home. Highly recommend staying here!

Waking up to the morning mist over the ancient rooftops of Kyoto was a memory we will treasure forever. Accommodation & Hardware Our room was an absolute masterpiece of Japanese craftsmanship. The spatial design felt expansive yet deeply intimate, featuring flawless joinery, rich tactile fabrics, and panoramic windows framing historic vistas. The hardware, lighting, and acoustic isolation were all executed to perfection, delivering an atmosphere of pure tranquility and opulent comfort. Dining & The "Ten-Beef" Celebration The highlight of our stay was the birthday dinner at the resort’s signature dining venue (featuring their legendary teppanyaki multi-course beef tasting menu). The culinary team and service staff curated an unforgettable evening for my wife—complete with exquisite, personalized birthday arrangements, poetic dish presentations, and world-class wine pairings. The quality of the Wagyu and the precision of the chefs were truly Michelin-caliber. We had a really nice stay at the Park Hyatt Kyoto. Despite being literally next door to the entrance of one of the busiest tourist areas in the world, the property itself is extremely tranquil. The staff are wonderful, and the room was comfortable and well appointed. We also really enjoyed the drinks (and the view) at the Kohaku bar. I'd love to stay here again.

Absolutely unforgettable zen experience in amazing Higashiyama location! From the moment you enter the driveway, instantly you know you’re somewhere special. There is so much attention to detail in the construction, decor, and service. One of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had at Kyoto Bistro - every dish, down to fruits and granola, were done with such restraint in seasoning to highlight the flavors in each food. As Globalist, we were fortunate to be upgraded to a beautiful garden terrace room - sometimes I just stared out the window at the zen garden and rock wall! Also great hot tub / cold plunge experience - that cold plunge is no joke but it feels oddly good after each hot tub soak. Kudos to all the Park Hyatt Kyoto staff who do so much to ensure an amazing stay!

As a Hyatt Globalist traveling with a young family, this stay set a benchmark for proactive luxury service. We were upgraded to a 1 King Bed Garden Terrace room on the 5th floor. The 5th floor location was a massive functional win that eliminated the need to transfer between multiple elevator banks when running back to grab kids' water bottles, passports, or cash. The high ceilings and private terrace gave the kids dedicated space for afternoon snack/tea time without feeling confined, they really enjoyed the outdoor space. Housekeeping was the best we've experienced across the brand: by day two, extra kids’ cups and requested amenities (hand sanitizer, children's bath products) were automatically replenished without asking, complemented by evening turndown treats and origami animals. Stepping right outside into Higashiyama for an early-morning photoshoot before the crowds, followed by quiet evening strolls back to the property, made the location unbeatable. Breakfast was phenomenal across both the à la carte menu items and the buffet. What elevated the dining experience was the intuition of the team: recognizing the pacing of dining with children, our server proactively guided us starting our second morning to the 2nd-floor private dining space, allowing our family to eat at our own pace without stress. The stay concluded with an unexpected offer from the team to take their house car for our transfer over to Hyatt Place Kyoto. The driver handled back-seat kid bickering with complete grace, entertaining them with a small "magic sword" toy and gifting it to them upon arrival. Staff Shout-Outs: Karen: Seamless and thorough room orientation that set a welcoming tone immediately upon arrival. Yun: Stepped in with genuine warmth when our baby was having a rough morning outside the dining area, checking in and bringing over a stuffed animal. Lee (Dining): Provided attentive morning table service and proactively arranged the 2nd-floor private dining room for our family. Lama, Tomoka, and Laurie (Driveway & Bell Team): Consistently the first friendly faces greeting us warmly on every departure and return to the property. House Car Driver: Turned an otherwise hectic transit across town into an easy, memorable highlight with remarkable patience and kindness.

Exquisite service, one of the best I have ever experienced, even better than Aman Tokyo, every stuff try to satisfy our demand the best they can, crazy part is about 50% stuff memorized my name, shows how much they cared about the customer. They bow when they see you and only stop bowing after you went so far that you can’t see them anymore. I tried to order room 701 but it was full but room 606 is still fantastic. However the breakfast is underwhelming, the food is limited, not even half as good as intercontinental in Los Angeles which is a huge letdown since this is the best Park Hyatt in my opinion.

This was, to date, the best hotel stay we have ever had. We came with high expectations after readind reviews about how luxurious Park Hyatt Kyoto was. We were even told that this was the best Park Hyatt in the collection. They were not wrong. Despite feeling like we knew what to expect, they still managed to exceed our expectations. The grounds were immaculately kept, and the hotel itself felt brand new while still capturing the style and character of old Gion. Everything was beautiful, peaceful, and incredibly well cared for. The staff was also next-level—attentive and thoughtful without ever being in your face. I’m almost embarrassed to say everything the housekeeping staff did for us, but they truly went above and beyond in ways we never expected. I feel so lucky that we were able to celebrate both a milestone birthday and our anniversary here. The staff made it even more special with thoughtful treats and a bottle of champagne. We’ve been fortunate to stay at some wonderful hotels, but this one was truly special. It will be very hard to top Park Hyatt Kyoto.

We had a wonderful stay at Park Hyatt Kyoto. The room was exceptionally comfortable and spotless, and the gym, sauna and jacuzzi facilities were excellent. The location was also fantastic. But what truly made our stay exceptional was the staff. From the moment we arrived at the drop-off area to check-in and throughout our stay, the entire team was incredibly warm, attentive and welcoming. A special thank you to Billy, Victoria and the charming French gentleman (apologies for not remembering his name!), as well as the entire concierge team and everyone who made our stay so memorable. Such an amazing team and truly outstanding hospitality. We can't wait to be back!
