This hotel was disappointing. All of the common areas were very attractive, especially the water feature in the lobby. However, when arriving in my hotel room (5th floor), I was horrified. The room was very small, dingy, not decorative in any way, and had a bathroom that required a literal foot step up which was a safety hazard. Couldn't help but think that this floor was reserved for tour groups. I even spent rainy days wondering around the city because I didn't want to spend any extra time in my room. Bottom line: I wouldn't recommend this hotel at all. The website is deceiving.

Was in Kyoto early March, some days hot and somedays cold. I am a very hot sleeper. Couldnt even control my own room’s temperature because its centralised. The only option they had for me to make it colder was to open the windows. The staff groggily helped us with that because we couldnt hinge it open. I stayed on the second floor, wasn’t a very nice thought.Bell boys of ALL the hotel staff were the nicest, at least they greeted you. The rest remained cold and unwelcoming, like they didnt want us there. Should have honestly splurged more for accomodation

This is a very clean, luxurious hotel for a very economical price. All staff were extremely polite and most spoke excellent English. The rooms were spotless. The concierge team was as helpful as any I’ve ever used. Nice rooftop bar also. Buffet looked good although we didn’t purchase this. Bellmen were very helpful getting taxis. The shuttle to and from Kyoto station was spacious, clean and very reliable. I can’t say enough good things about this hotel.

Fantastic hotel, feels like a 5 star experience. The water feature lobby is lovely, the bar is stunning and the general parts of the hotel are amazing. Welcoming and helpful staff. The shuttle bus is a LIFE SAVER. We didnt know about this before and luckily saw it advertised at KYOTO STATION near to MC DONALDS. This is a definite reason to stay here. Time and money saver. It is a short walk from a lovely temple and near by amenities and restaurants. The rooms are very nice with everything you need, the rooftop bar is a great place to chill out and have a drink and even to have some food. Would recommend this hotel

Gate 1 hotel in hotel & it was the worst of the whole trip. The room is like a prison cell, tiny window, ac doesn't work, beds so outdated low to the ground with a 1980's bedskirt & metal frame. When I called the front desk because of AC no english spoken. In the evening absolutely no english spoken at all to help with luggage transfer the next morning. The lobby looks like 4 start but the rooms are 1 star. breakfast is good. Location is terrible.

Kyoto Tokyu Hotel is a very comfortable and well-run place to stay in Kyoto. The lobby and public areas feel elegant and calming, and the hotel has a polished, modern Japanese style that makes a strong first impression. My room was clean, spacious, and quiet, with a nice layout and thoughtful amenities, and the bathroom looked fresh and well maintained. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout my stay, and the shuttle service to Kyoto Station made getting around much easier. I also liked the breakfast and the overall value for money. The only minor downside is that some rooms and the location feel a bit far from the main sightseeing areas, but overall it was a really pleasant stay 😊

This was the best hotel I ever stayed at. The hotel is incredibly clean, every employee is extremely kind, the food is amazing, the ladies and gentlemen at the reception are very competent (even with complicated billing questions), the shuttle drivers are amazing and helpful, the employees at the entrance hand out umbrellas when it rains and were helping with bags, the food is delicious and the service is amazing (in both restaurants). Even the helpers standing in the lobby are very forthcoming. The green card and green coin system are also a nice concept to show that the hotel cares about the environment. I will certainly return.

Location was convenient to walk to nearby temples and Kyoto Station and places in-between (e.g. AEON Mall). The rooms were spacious with comfy beds. Breakfast buffet and cleaning staff was very professional. Communication was a bit problematic. Upon arrival, staff members were extremely defective in pointing us to the lounge where we could have coffee. tea and snacks. For almost 20 minutes they kept pointing us in different directions and even bringing us personally to wrong places (such as the high tea bar where we needed a reservation made 24 hrs in advance) while the complimentary lounge was located next to the reception and could be opened with our room key. This ridiculous situation could have been avoided by front desk staff by spending just 20 seconds to show us physically where the lounge was (it was literally 10 steps away from the front desk but inconspicuous).
