We absolutely loved this hotel. We were in room 8 with a balcony and wonderful view every day of the Arenal volcano. We were here for 6 days in April and only had around 1 hour of rain the whole stay. The breakfast is great and the food in the on site restaurant was so good that we ate there twice. We also ate at several excellent sodas in town. This hotel is two minutes walk from the beautiful town center. There is a walk way behind the hotel that is gorgeous and full of wildlife including a sloth. There is a steam that runs by this trail that is full of fish. The restaurant staff can give you feed for the fish which is fun. I would walk the trail every morning before breakfast. One of my favorite things to do. I would highly recommend this hotel.

This was one of 5 hotels we stayed in during our 14 day tour of Costa Rica. Our room faced Arenal Volcano and we were fortunate to have nice views. The beds were comfortable but my favorite part was the nature trail behind the hotel. So many birds and frogs. The restaurant was rather slow but the food was good. It is separate from the hotel.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Monte Real in La Fortuna and were very happy with both the service and the location. The property has a lovely natural feel, with a peaceful rolling river at the back that creates a true Pura Vida atmosphere, quiet, green, and relaxing. The staff were outstanding throughout our stay. Everyone was welcoming, friendly, and genuinely helpful, always ready with a smile and assistance whenever needed. The complimentary breakfast was excellent, with several delicious options to choose from each morning. Our room was comfortable and well maintained, with thoughtful touches like a fridge and a modern shower with convenient dispensers for both body wash and hair products. The hotel is centrally located and very walkable to shops, restaurants, coffee shops, and nearby parks, making it easy to explore La Fortuna on foot. Overall, Hotel Monte Real offers great value, charm, and warm hospitality. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting La Fortuna.

Location was perfect, room was spacious and nice. The facility itself was well maintained and absolutely gorgeous. Service, top notch. From reception, to house keeping and especially at the restaurant. Everyone was nice, but Tony especially stood out. He was attentive and professional and always on point with checking if we needed anything. All around, our stay at Hotel Monte Real was amazing and I could not recommend them more.

Best hotel i stayed in Costa Rica!! Great spacious rooms, super clean and recently renovated. We stayed in a double bed room on the second floor and we had a view of the arenal volcano (when it was not too cloudy). The staff were SUPER helpful, the cleaner ladies would leave clean bathroom towels on the beds shaped as various animals every day 😃 Also, Ttony, a waiter who works at the restaurant - BEST service ever. Always with a smile to help you! You get a welcome drink on the day you check in which is a super great touch. The breakfast is super good, i recommend the American!
