Which area should I stay in in Lijiang?

Stay in the Old Town of Lijiang for the classic maze of canals and Naxi architecture, ideal for first-timers. Shuhe Ancient Town, a quieter neighbor, suits those wanting a more relaxed base. The Bivou Lijiang and Holiday Inn resort are in Shuhe, while Jun Bo Boutique Guesthouse and ANYU Hotel are near the old town's south gate.

What are the must-see attractions in Lijiang?

The Old Town of Lijiang is a well-preserved ancient town with canals and Naxi architecture. Black Dragon Pool offers clear water and views of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. Tiger Leaping Gorge is a dramatic river canyon. Jade Water Village and Blue Moon Valley are scenic spots near the mountain, with pools and terraces.

What day trips can I take from Lijiang?

From Lijiang, full-day tours head to Shangri-La, where you can see Tibetan monasteries and highland scenery, and to Tiger Leaping Gorge, a dramatic river canyon. How many days do I need in Lijiang?

Plan 3 to 4 days. In 3 days, you can see the Old Town of Lijiang, Black Dragon Pool, and Jade Water Village, plus a day for Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and Baisha Village. Add a fourth day for a trip to Tiger Leaping Gorge or Shangri-La. If you want to include both, you will need 5 days total.
