This was such a relaxed and enjoyable place to stay. The rooms were clean and simple, but the best parts were the incredible staff, the great location on the river, and the fantastic food and drink. Plus the sunset cruise is one of the best you will ever do.

Glad we ended up here. It was a last minute we’re-here-now-where-do-we-stay kind of thing and from the reception to the tour to the booking, everything went smoothly. We tried to eat at various places on this trip so I only had the pizza at the hotel and it was excellent. Had a couple of margaritas as well that were yummy.

Lovely grounds with beautiful flowering and fruiting plants and trees- and monkeys! Quiet stay, comfortable room, good breakfast. For dinner, we had meatballs in sauce and battered and fried kapenta fish- both delicious- along with nshima (maize polenta) and onion rings. Five stars for its location on the Zambezi River which afforded breathtaking views of the sunset.

Really lovely stay here at the Waterfront. We especially enjoyed the restaurant / dining area. Bonaventur was excellent and looked after us all night and ensured we had a nice takeaway breakfast for our Chobe day trip the next day and kept us well stocked up with Mosi Lager. It was a lovely location, right along the Zambezi and excellent views of the river and wildlife. Barnabas on the front desk was helpful and ordered us a taxi and helped exchange money for us and made our stay so much better. Would happily stay here again.

Everything about this place was wonderful, but the beds were made for tiny people. At 194cm, the bed barely fit me. The restaurant was awesome and the prices were reasonable

Wonderful camping facilities, clean, neat, green, with wonderful food at the restaurant, and views on the deck to admire daily! Great stop over to explore the falls, local stalls and a river cruise.

They were very slow to serve us. Its beautiful but we waited for more than 45 minutes till we were served. I rate it 1 star. Improve the speed when serving black people. Because they were serving a different race faster.

Frequently asked questions about Livingstone

When is the best time to visit Livingstone?

The best time to visit Livingstone is from May to August, when the weather is mild and dry, making it ideal for viewing Victoria Falls and wildlife. September and October are the hottest months, while the rainy season from November to April brings lush scenery but can make trails slippery. The falls are most powerful in April and May, right after the rains.

Which area should I stay in in Livingstone?

Stay near the Victoria Falls along Mosi-oa-Tunya Road for easy access to the falls and the national park; this suits first-time visitors. The Royal Livingstone and Avani Victoria Falls Resort are here. For a quieter, riverside setting, consider the Sawmills area, where the David Livingstone Safari Lodge and Victoria Falls Waterfront are located. The town center, around the Livingstone Museum, is convenient for local sights and dining.

What are the must-see attractions in Livingstone?

Victoria Falls is the main draw, a massive waterfall on the Zambezi. Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park offers wildlife and views of the falls. The Livingstone Museum covers local history and culture. Mukuni Big Five Safaris provides a chance to see the Big Five. The Victoria Falls World Heritage Site encompasses the falls and surrounding area.

What day trips can I take from Livingstone?

Day trips from Livingstone go to Chobe National Park in Botswana, a top safari destination for elephants, lions, and boat cruises on the Chobe River. A combined tour also covers both the Zambian and Zimbabwean sides of Victoria Falls, often with a helicopter ride over the falls. These full-day tours are the main options from town.

How many days do I need in Livingstone?

Plan 3 days in Livingstone. Spend the first day at Victoria Falls and the Victoria Falls World Heritage Site. Use the second day for Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park and the Livingstone Museum. Add a third day for a Chobe National Park day trip, which needs the extra day.
