Convenient location and a lot of charm. The hotel is cute and full of character, and our room and bathroom were really nice. Most of the staff were kind and genuinely helpful. However, there are a few issues that impacted the overall experience. The front desk during the day was not welcoming—he didn’t acknowledge me and seemed to rush me through checkout. More importantly, I wasn’t given a receipt, and I later noticed additional charges on my card that I needed the receipt for. The pricing is also misleading. What’s advertised is not what you end up paying. Valet parking has an additional fee every day, and there’s no onsite self-serve option—you have to choose valet or use ride share. On top of that, there are additional resort fees on top of the taxes/city fees, including charges tied to pool/tub access. For the facilities provided, the resort fees felt overpriced. Breakfast was another letdown. The dining area is very limited, with only a few tables, and it’s uncomfortable to find a place to sit. The free breakfast quality was below what I’d expect compared with other chain hotels like Marriott or Hilton, and to get better food you effectively end up needing to order or pay extra. Overall, the hotel itself is attractive and the rooms are great, but the extra fees, breakfast setup, and checkout experience left a bad impression.

This hotel isn’t the worst of the worst but I am disappointed with my overall experience. At first glance, the room appeared clean, but upon taking a closer look, I noticed that the walls, ceiling, and other areas showed signs of damage and poor upkeep. Some of the damage appeared to have simply been painted over rather than properly repaired. Another issue was the noise throughout the night. I heard banging throughout the night, which made it difficult to relax and enjoy a peaceful night’s rest. I was also disappointed by the additional charges. The price advertised on the website did not clearly communicate the extra $100 amenity charge, and we had to ask staff why we were being charged more than expected. We were told the amount would be refunded to our credit card, but the lack of clear communication was frustrating. We were also charged for the water in the room and other amenities. which was another unexpected expense. The only parking option available was valet, costing approximately $40–$50. Overall staff was friendly.

While our stay was not terrible by any means there was much to be desired. Considering this hotel is a 4-star hotel and the amount of money spent during our stay, my expectations were higher. Laundry was less than ideal. They offer a dry cleaning service where your clothes are taken off site to be cleaned and returned. The policy explained to us a couple of times each time different. Once we were told the bags and papers would be in our room, they were not and could be left outside the door for pick up. Then when we asked housekeeping for more we were told we had to go to the desk. When we went to the desk they said we had to ask housekeeping and they would have some brought up but the clothes needed to be brought to the desk to receive service. One of the days we did partake in the laundry service the front desk called us at 10:30pm to inform us that they would be bringing up the laundry and did have housekeeping then come and knock to drop it off. And while I appreciate receiving our laundry in case it was needed the next morning, I was shocked that they would call a room with no conversation prior at 10:30pm. Housekeeping did a good job cleaning wise and from what I could tell none of our things had been touched. However housekeeping seemed to have no real schedule for refreshes. Some days they would come early in the morning like 8am-9am and others (most) we would not even receive service until 3pm-5pm. Almost every day we received linen that was stained, both towels and bedding. Which normally any stained items are pulled from rotation and used as rags for housekeepers so that was very strange to me. Extra towels were requested but unfortunately the most we ever received were 3 at a time. I'm not sure if they have a shortage and that is why stained linen was still in rotation and extra were not given, but it did leave an impression. The restraunt was over priced, but in general the food was decent. However, each day they seemed to be out of something. I requested Sprite. They were out. I requested a chocolate crossaint. They were out. They had one salt and pepper shaker that they were sharing with all the tables. There were a couple of days where the restaurant staff allowed me to have silverware but then on Wednesday and Thursday I was told I could not have regular silverware my only option was to-go ware to take to my room. On Thursday we were actually told that the silverware in the tub was all the silverware he had for the rest of the night and that they only had a few to-go ware left as well. While this did not happen to me I was only an observer it does lend to the overall vibe of our stay. One of the nights we were in the restaurant a gentleman eating across the room had his chair break and him fall onto the floor. Now onto the items in our room that did not work. Our air conditioner did generally work however would continuously run and while set at 70 would consistently stay at 72-73. Our phone would randomly start beeping as if you were getting a busy signal without the phone being touched and continued even after unplugging the phone. There were also a couple of times when trying to use the phone to call the front desk it did not work unless you used the speaker option. There was also an outlet on the lamp that did not work. Our freezer had ice built up on the rack but did not keep our items frozen unless we turned the mini fridge all the way up. Also the patio door that should have been able to open I am pretty sure was painted shut. Again in general it was not a terrible stay, but I would not consider the hotel a 4-star hotel or "luxurious" as they advertise. The most pleasant people we encountered were I believe Norman in the restraunt, a blonde woman who I believe generally works mornings in the restaurant, and a couple of the valet guys. Personally would not stay again. We have had significantly better experiences at the hotels in Sherman Oaks.

I was disappointed by our stay at Hotel Amarano. I had been excited to stay there for the first time and all the photos made the place look extra special. Since we were traveling for my husband’s birthday I upgraded us to a one bedroom suite with patio. The first night we came in I noticed the bed was not as comfortable as I was expecting. For this type of hotel I was expecting a foam mattress or pillows but neither was available. When I called to ask for foam pillows they assured me they had them but what arrived was more feather pillows. When I asked for linens for the sofa bed they sent two flat sheets and no blankets. Any time I called for valet or housekeeping I had to be redirected from the front desk because no one answered. The second night we were there I found multiple bugs in our bedroom and bathroom as well as cigarette butts on our patio. The hotel has a text message system with the front desk and when I told them about the bugs and cigarettes I got no response. When I texted to ask for the check out time no response. I finally had to call the front desk to ask about the time and they told me it was 11am when I had previously checked their website and it says 12pm in the FAQ section. When I told them this they found a way to honor that 12pm time. The room includes breakfast for registered guests. It was small including a muffin, some cut fruit, and yogurt with granola. All items were tasty but the service was beyond slow. Day one they took 20 mins to get an ice tea which was making me late for my plans. Second morning they gave us our menus and then didn’t come back for 15 minutes even though it’s a small dining room where they can see everyone. They comped the food for how long it was taking them. The parking is valet only and $50 a night which did not include tips each time we needed the car pulled up. In the end I don’t think I will stay here again for the price and the issues I mentioned.

Location was good, Room was nice.|Dining area/bar small and awkward layout. Included Breakfast was just ok, fruit, pastry & yogurt. Paid the next day for breakfast- expensive and wasn’t very nice. Took a long time to make. Also a very long wait in the bar on an early evening, 40mins for a drink! Room only got cleaned once so had to request clean towels. Valet parking only and this was a shambles. Requested our car, they ‘couldn’t find our key’, then they said the room number was ‘wrong’ on the sheet, then they proceeded to bring the ‘wrong car’ out of the garage and laughed when we said it wasn’t ours! We waited 30 minutes until our car was finally brought out because they ‘couldn’t find it!’ They knew exactly what car we had as this was the 2nd day & we’d been in & out a few times. I do actually think someone had taken it thinking we weren’t going out for the evening and then had to buy some time for whoever it was to bring it back! $56 a day for parking! I wouldn’t bother!

I stayed at this boutique hotel in 2018 and the experience was lovely! I had all requests met and I was able to stay in the room my partner paid for which included a big tub in our room with a great view! This stay however was much different and extremely disappointing. First off, I paid for a pool view for the one day I would be in town. I wanted to enjoy a sunny pool view from my room as Oooo to the rainy cold city I’m from. I got a different room with a view from the Vons across the street and a clear sound of the street traffic and cars driving by. I would not have cared as much but the room I was placed in was so dirty and disgusting. At check-in (I got there just past 2 after calling the front desk and confirming I could have an early check in)the person who assisted advised their reservations were full for the night and that was why I didn’t ask for another room. I was there one night and other hotels were booked or too expensive for late booking so I stayed. I did communicate with the manager and was told they would communicate with the staff that there was a complaint and it was left at that. Here are the photos of the state of the room. Not to mention there was blood on the sheets but I forgot to get a photo of that as I was omw out To dinner.

The hotel was clean, comfortable, and the staff was friendly. Overall, it was a good stay, but the biggest downside was the noise. The walls seem to be very thin. At night, I could hear almost everything from the room next door, including sneezes, phone conversations, and other normal room noise. It made it difficult to get a good night's sleep. If soundproofing were improved, this would be a much better hotel. Unfortunately, the noise level would make me think twice about staying here again.

We had a lovely stay here. The service was fantastic, and the rooms were very cozy. Great boutique hotel! I do wish the resort fees were included at the time of reservation (as opposed to being charged at the end of our stay as part of our incidentals), but besides that, I would highly recommend this place.
