Our stay at Villa La Preziosa was truly one of the highlights of our trip to Italy. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed with the kind of genuine hospitality that only a family-owned property can offer. The owners made us feel like guests in their home rather than visitors at a hotel. The villa itself is beautiful, full of historic charm, and surrounded by a peaceful atmosphere that made it the perfect place to relax after exploring Lucca and the surrounding countryside. Every corner of the property reflects its history and character. One evening, after a long day of sightseeing, the owner went above and beyond by ordering pizza for us, picking it up herself, and setting a lovely table with drinks so we could simply sit down and enjoy dinner. It was an incredibly thoughtful gesture that perfectly reflected the warmth and generosity of the family. Every morning, breakfast was a treat, made even more special by Sisi, the adorable little dog, who would come by to say hello. Those little visits always brought a smile to our faces and made us feel even more at home. If you’re looking for a place with authentic Tuscan character, beautiful surroundings, and exceptional hospitality, Villa La Preziosa is an absolute gem. We left with wonderful memories and would happily stay there again on our next visit to Tuscany.

Had a lovely stay at La Preziosa. Its a beautiful family run hotel and everyone was very friendly. Our room, Lavender, was lovely, plenty of room for the three of us. Pool was a great bonus as it was so hot when we stayed. Julian was always helpful and happy, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was a nice continental breakfast and we had lunch a few times in the garden. We had no problem getting taxi's into Lucca but a bit of a wait to get one back in the evenings. We did walk back one evening and it took 45 minutes. We walk a lot so it wasn't a problem for us. You can rent the bikes from the hotel and bike into Lucca in about 10 mins which is a nice easy ride. Definitely recommend La Preziosa if you are looking for a happy, friendly hotel to stay.

There are not enough superlatives to adequately express how great Preziosa is. Our second visit. Touring Rome, Bologna, and Florence like crazy Americans then 3 days totally relaxed with Gunther, Barbara, and Julian who treated the 4 of us as family. Day trips from Preziosa to Pisa, Luca's walled city, and Cinque Terre.

Beautiful hotel, Beautiful location and run by a beautiful family Had a lovely 4 night break this week to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary. We stayed in the Lavender room which had a view over the pretty garden and pool. Lovely large room with high ceilings, windows and very well equipped with tea, coffee, fridge, kettle, hairdryer, toiletries (even hair straighteners !) The shower was excellent and the bed comfortable with lovely white linen. The location is about 10 mins outside of Lucca city walls. We had a hire car and would drive in the day and hotel would arrange a taxi for us to enjoy Lucca by night. We visited Pisa, Florence, Forte de Marmi and Viareggio in the hire car and found Villa La Preziosa the perfect base to do this. Breakfast was delicious. Full range of buffet continental breakfast was served in the prettiest of rooms. We ate outside in the garden when the weather was good. Hot breakfast served too, such as omelettes. Barbara recommended a couple of restaurants for the evening and both were excellent. Julian recommended taking the park and ride tram near Florence to visit the city. Again a good suggestion. My only regret is to have left early in the morning and not being able to say goodbye and thank you personally and properly. So thank you once again for a wonderful stay in a very special place. You were the perfect hosts.

If you want to stay outside of the busyness of the walled town of Lucca, the villa is a great destination. |The extensive remodel of the villa was done perfectly… the beautiful painted frescos on the walls, the furniture, the lovely gardens and pool….attention to detail in every corner! Easier if you have a car for it is about 10+ minute drive to town, or easy to take a taxi. It is a family run business who take pride in their operation. Barbara, Gunther and family were wonderful hosts. The accommodations are perfect, comfortable beds with nice soft linens, nice showers and towels, ample space in rooms with desk and sitting area and amazing breakfast served daily on the peaceful patio. |It was the perfect place for us to unwind during a busy stay in Italy. I give it 5 stars!

We loved our time with Barbara and Gunther at Villa La Preziosa. The rooms were comfortable and decorated with care. Breakfast with champagne in the beautiful garden started our days off right. The degree of hospitality was exceptional! Barbara recommended restaurants, wineries, and spots in Lucca that were interesting and unique. Villa La Preziosa is a charming hidden gem less than ten minutes from Lucca city center. We definitely hope to return one day!

Arriving at the gates of the fully restored villa along a small country road near Lucca is a little daunting. Once the electric gates open however there was Julien, son of the owners, to greet us. We had a welcome drink whilst Julien took the luggage to our room. |This villa has been fabulously and meticulously restored and retains its character whilst now having many mod cons. |The drive into Lucca is simple.|The family cook up a wonderful breakfast and help with the luggage on departure.
