A place that one will think about after visiting in Matera. Located on the slopes of the farthest side of the city, this is somewhere to get some relaxing time. Surprisingly spacious inside with incredible decor, expect high-levels of service from this establishment. The pool and saunas were very well attended too indeed. Massages are also available among many other beauty treatments. A very welcome little break in this wonderful city.

The hotel is beautiful, the rooms are lovely, and the breakfast is excellent. However, what impressed me the most was the receptionist, Sabrina. We had a flat tire on our rental car, which meant we could no longer use it for the rest of our trip. We tried contacting the rental company ourselves, but unfortunately got nowhere. Sabrina kindly took the time to help us and spent a significant amount of time dealing with the situation. She had to wait on hold for a long time before finally reaching a representative and patiently explained our circumstances. Unfortunately, the rental company was not able to offer much assistance because they did not have another vehicle large enough for our group. There were four of us traveling together with several large suitcases, so finding a suitable replacement was challenging. Sabrina went above and beyond. Not only did she help communicate with the rental company, but she also worked hard to find alternative solutions for us. She suggested renting a car from another company or using a taxi service instead, and she personally arranged all the bookings on our behalf. We are incredibly grateful for her kindness, dedication, and willingness to help. Thanks to Sabrina, what could have been a very stressful situation became much more manageable, and she helped ensure that our trip continued smoothly. She is a true asset to the hotel, and we cannot thank her enough. However, we were not particularly impressed with the spa experience. In our opinion, it was not worth the price. We would recommend simply enjoying the swimming pool instead, as it is beautiful and complimentary for hotel guests.

What an amazing place, with rooms all nestled into the hillside. My husband and I loved our stay here. I’m not sure what we had done to deserve this, but our room was upgraded to one with a terrace overlooking the rooftops - perfect for a nightcap after returning from our meal. The pool and spa facilities are gorgeous and so clean. Totally recommend.

Just had one of the best spa experiences at Aquatio. The whole experience was seamless and the setting incredible. Valeria provided one of the best facials and massages I have ever had (hydra facial and decontracting massage for those interested). If you are visiting Matera, this is a must! Thanks Valeria and team Aquatio.
