We had an exceptional stay at La Dimora di Metello. The room was truly unique—modern, beautifully designed, and very clean. The views from our room were spectacular, making it the perfect spot to enjoy our morning coffee. The location was ideal, with plenty of shops and restaurants just steps away from the hotel. Elisabetta was incredibly helpful and took the time to answer all of our questions, which made our stay even more enjoyable. We would absolutely recommend La Dimora di Metello to our family and friends.

This hotel is one of the most unique and special places I’ve ever been. The room was incredible, 10/10 big, comfortable, amazing bath, and super special view. The team was very nice and welcoming to us. There is no close parking so consider the extra money and 20 minutes walk from outside the old town to the hotel. Besides this it as all amazing and special.

What a fabulous place. The hosts are so welcoming and helpful, giving the best recommendations for dinner. The rooms are beautifully appointed and spacious. Breakfast was delicious and they have umbrellas on hand should it rain. It is situated in a perfect spot close to restaurants and a main road. There are a lot of stairs so you can easily work off the food you consume here :) |I have no negatives everything was perfect. |I wish accomodations had real milk though just a small jug in the fridge or something as I don’t like the little long life milks but this applies to all stays I’ve had. I highly recommend staying here.

A very beautiful boutique hotel where everything is thoughtfully designed down to the smallest detail, with an interesting design, a very romantic atmosphere, an excellent breakfast, and outstanding service.

One of the most beautiful hotel that I ever stayed. Room is beautiful decorated and the location is perfect. The balcony provides one of the amazing view of Matera. Breakfast is so delicious with plenty of selection. There are few restaurants close by and we tried two of them, both are really good.

An absolutely stunning boutique hotel carved into the ancient sassi of Matera! La Dimora di Metello perfectly balances historic charm with modern luxury, offering a truly unique stay in this UNESCO World Heritage site. The rooms are masterfully designed, incorporating the original cave structures while providing all modern amenities. Our suite featured a private terrace with breathtaking views over the ancient city and the Gravina canyon. The bathroom was spectacular - a huge rain shower carved into the rock with excellent water pressure. Breakfast is a delightful experience, served either in your room or on the panoramic terrace. The spread includes local specialties, fresh pastries, and made-to-order eggs. The staff's attention to detail with breakfast presentation is remarkable. The location is perfect - right in the heart of the Sassi district, walking distance to all major attractions, restaurants, and viewpoints. Yet it remains peaceful and quiet, offering a serene retreat after exploring the city. Pro tips: - Book the suite with the terrace for unforgettable views - Request breakfast on the terrace for a magical morning - Staff can arrange excellent guided tours of Matera - Limited parking nearby, but they offer valet service - Some rooms have better views than others, ask when booking The staff deserves special mention - incredibly helpful with restaurant recommendations, tour bookings, and local insights. They truly go above and beyond to ensure a memorable stay. While it's in the premium price range, the unique experience of staying in a luxuriously appointed cave hotel in Matera makes it worth every penny. A truly exceptional property that enhances the magical experience of visiting this ancient city.

Family own - but very much professionel. Elisabetta makes sure you have a wonderfull stay.|We loved the Cave room - the beautyfull terrasse .. with shadow in the morning - so you can have the lovely breakfast outside.|Great value - and you find fully stocked minibar at very fair prices. Ekstra plus is very nice wine glasses free to use.
